I used this Maintenance Kit to Set-up the action on a very cheap acoustic/electric guitar I picked up on Amazon. The main issue I had was that the scales on the main set up gauge didn't begin at the edge of the metal gauge. Fortunately, I have a caliper and was able to machine the gauge down to allow most of the scales to be accurate from the edge of the metal. Without that fix, most the the scales would be useless.Anyway, the small files were handy to cut the guitar nut down and get my first fret action perfect, and I used the steel gauge to set my 12th fret action by filing down the bridge.Over-all, it's a decent set if you have nothing better, and something better will cost a LOT more than this set does. I find it's useful if you check the scales and the placement on the gauge.

Everything in this kit was decent, except for the files. The files were trash.

Got this for my son for repair and maintenance of his guitars. His instructor was very impressed with this set, and will be recommending to his other students.

Nothing but junk in this kit. Don't waste your money. For instance, the string cutters won't even cut through the high E.
