I must have half a dozen pencil sharpeners of various kinds, and in another life, I had an electric sharpener. I bought this one for the shop, where dull pencils drive me crazy; I like a needle point for fine work. At first I could not figure out just how long to hold the pencil in the sharpener, but by accident, I discovered that you just hold the pencil down until the sharpener stops. Presto—a needle point with no guessing! I thought maybe it was a fluke, that I had just jammed the machine by holding the pencil down, but no: It seems to work every time. Insert the pencil, whirr whirr whirr, stop, pull out the sharpened pencil. Life is good.

Bought it as a gift for my mother who is returning to work after retiring 6 years ago. She wanted a battery operated sharpener and she thought this one was the most stylish, hence I added a star to this review for looks...Unfortunately, my mother called me the day after she using it and asked if I could still return it. She had put new batteries in the pencil sharpener and it barely had enough power to sharpen a dull #2 pencil. Gently inserting the pencil and rotating will sharpen the pencil eventually, but you have to keep spinning the pencil in your hand to make it work- otherwise the pencil will be sharp, but off-center.I returned this model and bought her another pencil sharpener by a different manufacturer, but haven't received it yet.Thank you, Amazon, for making the return process so straightforward and easy.

I accidentally ordered 2 at the same time. The first one jammed after just a few uses and I couldn't get it cleared. I had the 2nd one, so I just broke it out and it has been working beautifully.

I've had this pencil sharpener for 5 years and it's still going strong. I'm very happy with it's compact size and the way it works.

I've only sharpened a few pencils and it worked fine. After using it more I might give it five stars but not ready right now.

I ordered two of these sharpeners, the first one was great and sharpened the pencils well. The second one was a real dud and did not sharpen at all. ImiKas took it upon themselves to send me a replacement for the second one and it's a great sharpener. Thank you ImiKas for being so consumer friendly.

Arrived quickly and it was in use immediately! Easy to clean the shavings reservoir. A number 2 pencil works perfectly in this sharpener. Glad I chose this pencil sharpener as it runs on batteries; I can take it anywhere and I don't have to worry about finding an electric outlet or making room unplugging some other electric device.

Works OK, but I was hoping to get a sharper point on my pencils. Kind of noisy and slow to sharpen.
