Surgery recovery suit
Great product! I did not buy it to protect against shedding, I purchased because my fur baby had surgery to remove two tumors. Very large incisions. Day 3 and my boy wants to lick through all the stitches. The cone/donut is not comfortable for him. I received this product after some delay and size guessing. But it’s going to be a good solution. We live in St. George, Utah. Southern part of the state. Right now we are 95 degrees this suit is light weight and allows him to be cool, relieve himself without fuss, protects his wounds, and allows him to be comfortable while he heals!! I probably should have gone down one size, but was not sure what to expect. Again, great product! Will buy again!

Pretty in Pink
I have made this purchase to help with the shedding of unbelievable amounts of hair on our road trips, the fit isn’t perfect because she’s about 64 pound boxer mix & I chose XL based on the sizing chart because I do believe the size L would more than likely be too small for her, the material is stretchy & soft & the pink color is a bright shade of pink which I happen to like, I will post an update after a trip to provide information regarding this shedding suit if it makes a difference in traveling in your car with regard to the amount of hair so stay tuned …..Update: yes this definitely helps with the amount of hair left behind in your vehicle, obviously the head & neck are exposed so it’s not going to prevent those areas of hair that drop off but my baby girl is a shedding factory & especially on road trips & high would recommend this as a easy & effective way to reduce shed clean up in your vehicle.

Fabric is nice but it runs small in the arms and big in the body
This really was not tailored with a dog's body in mind. Maybe the general idea, "heres a torso, now sew some legs into it" but thats about all, and it shows. The front legs armpits are too snug, not fitted well for the dog's body shape. The hind legs are too large, also not fitted well. My boy, deapite buying the "sport" version, refused to potty in it outside. Seemed to not realize or understand that he could pee with it on. And in general he absolutely hated it. I bought him some of those sleeveless varieties and he likes those much much more. In this one he sorta flops over and pouts. Just laying there as if I've put him in a straight jacket-- and no, I didn't. The size i bought was at least 1, if not two, sizes too large. And no, going smaller won't make it fit better. Because for all the sections that it was too baggy in, it was still cripplingly too snug in the armpits. That's not gonna change by downsizing. Really a shame. I had high hopes. The material is nice. The zipper convenient. Would be better to run it along the top. The turtleneck is better than other varieties, and the entirely open crotch is great. But the arms are so poorly designed it just ruins the product completely. The $18 chinese brands that make you cut out the dick hole are vastly superior.

A Solid Option w/ Multiple Uses (but could use a few tweaks)
My Great Dane weighs between 130 and 150 lbs depending on how active we've been lately. He can wear either the XXL or the Giant without much noticeable difference. My Chin/Chihuahua mix weighs 5 lbs and wears the Mini. Here are some different reasons we've used these suits and how they work for each:1. Fun/Costumes - This is the number one reason the dogs put their ShedDefenders on and they're a great addition for dogs that like to dress up. Flamingo. Super Hero. Distinguished Gentleman. Start with a ShedDefender. I just wish they came in more colors.2. Shedding - Unfortunately, only the original long-sleeve, full-zip version really catches enough fur to be worth it. I've found with the others, there just isn't enough area covered to keep the hair in. If your dog gets hot or you're like me and forget to unzip the suit for potty breaks, the full-coverage suit might not be a great idea.3. Warmth - While not strictly a warm fabric, these do help keep the wind/chill off your dog and help keep the snow from sticking to every inch of a dog that loves to dive head first into it.4. Cooling - Both of my dogs get hot easily. On some occasions, I've made the dogs wear their suits so the sun isn't hitting their white fur/skin directly and then I soak the suit in water to help keep them cool. There's probably something on the market that does this function better, but this will do in a pinch.5. Recovery - The suit itself certainly helps keep tongues and dirt away from healing wounds. I did find that it was best paired with a donut to truly keep the wound untouched, though. Some other random thoughts: They're not indestructible. Ours have developed holes and pulled at the seams in places I wouldn't expect them to. The legs could be longer. The legs are unhemmed so you'd think they would be long enough to trim to your desired length. Unfortunately, they feel short on my Great Dane. The suits slide down a little. I periodically have to pull the ShedDefender back up my dog's neck and body as it will continue to stretch and slide down regardless of size and on both dogs. The legs on the "sport" version are a little too open and tend to get caught as though my dog's pants are down every time he lays down.

Good for skin allergies. Bad for tall, thin dogs
I rescued a rough collie who was suffering from a severe allergic reaction to fleas. We finally got the fleas under control and now we use this to help his skin heal. I usually put it on him after applying antiseptic treatment so he doesn't lick it all off. The only problem is the shirt is not made for tall thin dogs. Finley has really long legs and a deep chest so this shirt pulls funny in that area. We can't leave it one for more than 30 minutes or he starts to get distressed. But it serves it's purpose for a temporary cover while his medicine soaks in. Most of his fur had fallen out with his allergy. I can't imagine how this would ever work on a full-blown collie coat as a shed defender. But to keep from licking his legs and stomach it's perfect

Surprisingly brilliant!
Highly recommend for those times you need to cover your big pup! She actually didn’t mind wearing it so long as we didn’t laugh at her (which was hard to not let her know we were laughing at her!) fit perfectly, easy on & off once you figure out method, breathable & great quality
