Great for Stanley 40oz
I needed a tall one for my Stanley 40 ounce and I like the metal and not too skinny so this was perfect.

Serious straws for serious slurping
These things are epic. I've been on a straw-buying jag lately, for reasons I can't yet reveal, but of all the straws I've gotten, these are the biggest, longest, and heaviest, and not even the most expensive. If you want to suck a milkshake, smoothie, granita, blended margarita, not-too-chunky soup, or whatever thick beverage from a huge, tall cup, these straws will serve. You do need some sort of huge, heavy, stable mug or giant cup, Mason jar or other large container for these to work; they will topple a lesser receptacle or at least look silly and disproportionate. And you had best be a person of size or at least substantial oral capacity; these are both very long and quite wide, meaning that you have to really put some suction on to move things mouthward, plus you have to deal with a bunch of air before your liquid arrives, and then it all gets kinda heavy, plus the drag from viscosity... But if you're up to the challenge, they'll reward you with as much of your favorite slush as you can handle, once momentum builds. And of course, from the ever-present tactical vantage, these could be formidable in the hands of a trained individual. From sipping to stabbing, in a flash... These have a nice polished finish, and came in a pouch, too. They are, essentially, stainless steel tubes, except they have a series of strawlike stamped rings on them partway down where a plastic straw has that bellows joint, I guess to let you know that they are legit straws and not just mere tubes. They're just stamped rings, not a trick bendy joint. The ends are neatly finished, though, which not all tubes are. There you have it. If you need the biggest, longest, and outright baddest straws on Amazon and possibly in the world, you just found em. Unless you're some sort of ogre, you will definitely not need larger straws, ever.

Great straws
I don't think I will save humanity single handedly by ceasing to purchase plastic straws, but it's a step in a good direction. I own a set of straws from this same manufacturer in an 8 or 9 inch length (not close to a ruler or the other type of straw) and they have proven to be rugged and user friendly. This 12" length is perfect for a couple of taller cups and drinking bottles we use for having our smoothies. Could also make a formidable self defense tool in a pinch! I am slowly moving towards being the type of consumer who chooses quality over convenience and disposability. Not always feasible, hence the "slowly" disclaimer. Why use straws at all? Mostly because my son has an easier time of things and drinks more fluids when he has access to a straw. We are working on motor skills and the use of drinking glasses, but in the meantime he will stay hydrated with the aid of these stainless steel straws (the shorter version). And for those times when I need to drink on the go, I prefer not having to tip my head back when I'm drinking my smoothie in the truck (only at red lights, of course ;-) ). I'm guessing the usable lifespan of these straws will keep thousands of straws out of our local landfill, or off that island of plastic out there in the Pacific Ocean.

Exactly what I was looking for, works with Tervis Tumbler 24oz
I was looking for some stainless steel straws that I could use, wash in the dishwasher, and reuse, and I also wanted these straws to work with both my water bottle and my Tervis 24oz Tumbler w/lid; these straws are exactly what I was looking for.I have a plastic, and a stainless steel, water bottle that I sometimes take to work, or use when driving in the car. Both water bottles that I use have wide mouths, and it's very tough to take a drink while driving. Also, when I use my Tervis Tumbler w/lid to put ice & soda in it, when you tip the cup to take a drink, the ice sometimes blocks the soda from coming out. The lid for the Tervis Tumbler has a round hole where you drink from, and the straw fits it perfectly. Now, with these straws, I can use them both in my water bottles and my tumbler without the cup/bottle blocking my vision while I'm trying to drive. These straws are the just about the right length; perhaps a bit too long, but the other straws, with the bend at the top, would definitely be too short. One thing to note, I would not recommend using these straws while walking--you could seriously injure yourself if you bumped this straw against your tooth or gum if you tripped or something.

Metal Straws Save the Environment
These metal straws are exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I would caution people about is that if you are used to plastic or paper straws...which we all are...you know. that they are "soft" when you put them in your mouth. Just be sure that you don't carelessly shove the metal straw in you mouth...rushing around, or whatever, as you can bang your teeth. But, you will know not to do that after you use them once or twice. And...I wouldn't walk around, drinking a drink, with a metal straw in my mouth in case I should I fall. That could have dire consequences. However, having said all that, I am still glad I got them. I just now use them more mindfully...which is not a bad thing for all of us to do anyway!

Great for Tall Bottles!
I bought these because I have a gallon water jug that I keep at my desk. While drinking straight from the jug is not really an issue, I find that I drink more water if it's from a straw (don't ask haha). Unfortunately, the jug is too tall for normal straws, so I was having to take the straw out each time I would finish drinking so that it wouldn't fall into the abyss that is this jug. When I found these straws, I was pretty excited because extra long straws are not an easy thing to find. These straws are stainless steel, which is nice in the sense that they are durable and will be something I can keep for a while. But, I am clumsy and tend to knock my teeth on them sometimes. No biggie, though. The straws do exactly what I purchased them for and are fantastic overall! Super nice!! And they come with their own carrying case! Selling point, I know.
