My go-to set!
I apologize for the long review, but as I always say, it's worth overdoing if its worth doing at all. I'm currently enrolled in automotive school, and I must say, this is a great set to have on hand! It has all of the socket sizes you will need for general repair orders, and the 3/8" size is just perfect for most jobs. If you are even considering going into the automotive field or if you are just a weekend gearhead, you will know that working space is a huge factor to consider when buying any tool. There simply isn't as much space in the engine compartment, or anywhere else on modern cars and trucks, as there used to be. The short and long sockets/extensions as well as the universal joint included in this set provide more options when space runs out. You will quickly find that the palm ratchet is a real life-saver; it fits almost anywhere you want it to! The chrome finish is completely flawless, as any professional tool should be.Cons: The only thing I had a problem with is the matte finish. Quite frankly, it was a little bit sloppy. Some sockets missed getting coated entirely while others were partially coated on the outside (ONLY the interior of the socket/joint should receive this special anti-corrosion finish). So why did I give 5 stars? Because most sockets these days (yes, even Snap-On) only have ONE SINGLE coat of chrome OR matte finish on the inside, while I noticed that these newer versioned SK's have BOTH chrome finish and the matte finish ON TOP of the chrome. Since I haven't seen Snap-On or Mac or Matco do anything like that with their tools, I'm satisfied. Hey, they're a little bit ugly, but I work in a shop and I don't really care too much about appearance as long as they work well and are comfortable to use, which they are. To add to that, only some of the sockets were affected. The steel seems so far to be excellent, but as with any tool, only time will tell. And another thing. I would recommend buying a 3/8" breaker bar to go with this set, just to save your ratchet's poor gears on the particularly stubborn or rusted screws. Take a look at the SK model 45152. Armstrong tools also makes some great flex handles if you're into those. In a nutshell, SK has done a great job at giving you tools that you need, rather than just trying to sell you ones that are only going to sit. Too many tool manufacturers give you stuff in their sets you simply will not use, or they don't give you enough (missing sockets, anyone?). Great set at a very fair price, and of course, they are made in America with American steel. You just can't ignore that part, considering how hard American tools are to find these days. Do yourself a favor and grab a set.UPDATE: For whatever reason, the price of this set seems to have gone out of control lately. I bought my set for around $160, while I've seen it shoot up and down. So just be aware of that.

SK The best socket set ever made for general mechanical work
I own many different socket and wrench set but always go back to SK. If you're starting out or just want a good Heavy Duty Set or even the cost of brands such as Snap-on this set is a fraction of what they go for. High Quality, great feel in your hand, does not break under even aggressive handling, good reliable tools go to SK every chance you can. 5 Star Superior choice anytime.

Made in the USA!
This is an amazing socket set! Do not let the price scare you off! Support American businesses with American quality. Many other tool companies have merged and continue to outsource their manufacturing to other countires like China, Taiwan, and SE Asia. S-K still manufactures theirs in the USA. This set has a great selsction of sizes I need to work on vehicles of all makes, foreign and domestic. It comes with a thumb-wheel that helps get into tight spaces and just needs turning by finger to remove bolts and nuts in tight spaces without needing to swing a ratchet back and forth. You can feel the quality in your hand when you pick it up. Definitely worth the price!

100% American And Is Easy To Tell In Quality
After 49 years on this planet, using craftsman and Snap On products as well as sub par sets. I'm sick of questionable quality and fit of most tools that are available in cheap discount stores. SK hand tools have always owned a great reputation as very high quality American made tools. You can surely purchase cheaper tools and more expensive tools. When your children are grown and gone (no more misplaced tools : ) when Dad just really enjoys tools that work perfectly each and every time. I bought these, I'm done buying foreign made tools no matter what "famous american name" that they USE to be associated as quality hand tools. When simply they are not as good and never will be as made by my American brother. Damn right I hope it helps him or her keep a decent job to help them raise their families! I hope you might do the same thing also. These are as good as hand tools get, at ANY price. And I know this set will be the last primary set of 3/8 drive automotive 6 point sockets that I'm ever gonna need. I hope my grandchildren, when they're my age can reflect and see it fit to pass on American made quality tools from themselves to their children. You can use SK tools 'till your arms fall off.... And they will be ready and out last the next set of hands to use them. American quality at it's best. You will never regret buying these tools as a pro or weekend warrior .... It just won't happen.

Quality product, worth the money!
I worked in a Cash America pawn chain like 20yrs ago and saw a lot of nice Snap-On and SK tool sets come through and always wanted one. Had a Craftsman Max Access socket set stolen from my car and needed a replacement recently, so I found these for a great deal with the 5-payment option.Quality product, works great, and the little thumb/finger ratchet is amazing. Will be looking to add the SK line of ratcheting wrenches, as well as a torture wrench and some larger sockets to round out the set.A little on the pricey side but doesn’t seem so bad if you can break it up into a few payments, especially for one of the few remaining tools made in the USA; definitely get what you pay for with SK!

Quality, finish and practicality.
This socket set is really high quality and the finish is near perfect. And you won't find better prices than through Amazon (if you look on the SK site you'll see what I mean!) Plus it came so quickly. I think I got it within a day and a half. I am really happy with this product. I use it for working on my truck at home or projects around the house. I still have an SK set from 1980, but I really needed more metric and deep well sockets for my Toyota Tundra, so this really fits the bill. Made in the USA is a priority for me too. Just what I was looking for. It's great!

Made in USA with USA and Global Components
The description on the product says Made in USA with USA and Global Components. This is not mentioned on the Amazon description, so I wonder how much is actually made in the USA.
