Coaching is more than X's and O's
First let me begin by saying I have been a fan of Todd's work for many years, so to a certain extent I am already in the group of the converted. As with much of Todd's work he speaks to training or coaching the whole, not deconstructing coaching into it's technical parts. He describes how children learn in context so we must create learning environments that provide that context. He goes further into explaining we must create a system where we all understand that the baseline of our pupils differ...the process though is consistent. As a coach and a parent there is much here to make you think, much to make you question your methods, much to make you want to be/do better. For those takeaways alone its an extraordinary read.

Good Reflection on your coaching ideas
Although short, the book gives a lot to think and brainstorm.about in regards to your views on why you coach, the kind of athlete you want to develop, how you develop the athlete, and how you want to be known as a coach\ mentor. Have a notebook ready if you really want to use the book as intended when answering his guides questions.

Brilliant as usual.
Todd provides a concise ' mic check' for us coaches that sometimes, and over time, feel compelled to be complex in what and how we teach. Drawing on so many different and varied sources of research and inspiration (not just coaches), he provides a roadmap to refine our methods and hone our craft. I can't wait to sit down and refocus my why, what, and how so I can continue on my journey to be a better educator than I am now.

Aptly Named, Clear Coaching
An absolute must read for new and experienced coaches alike.Perfect timing on the book. I’ve been feeling frustrated In my coaching process. Am I teaching properly, are they grasping what I’m teaching? The words in this book aptly named Clear Coaching helped me to refocus on my path, ideals, and teaching. Phenomenal read Todd. Thank you.

Pages of Notes and Personal Growth
Todd Beane is one of my newest coaches to study and research. This book has provided great ideas and insights for my personal and professional development as a teacher and coach. At times, I wanted more of a deep dive into the application of Todd's methodology but overall, this was a great read. Would highly suggest for coaches across all ages and stages of their careers.

An occasionally poetic look at coaching which can be generalized to any sport or pursuit
This book is aimed at coaches who teach children to improve their skills in just about any area of endeavour that can be taught. The book is about seventy one pages long which seems short but there is not much in the way of fluff here. I came across this as a suggestion based on my purchases. I put the author into a web search and found a lecture he did on a soccer site. I was impressed with the video which I intend to watch a few times to absorb everything that he said. Anyway, I was skeptical at first about such a short book so I used the look within feature and was blown away by his prose. It seemed like a series of prose poem rather than a treatise on coaching. I already own about 90% of the resources which he offers at the end of the book either on kindle or as a physical book or in some cases both. The funny thing is that he touches on some themes of sport as a hero's journey which I added to a business plan for the Chess Federation of Canada many years ago (2012). his approach to coaching and some of the insights are things that that he offers remind me of things that I have read elsewhere but he puts everything together quite successfully. My first reaction was WOW! WOW! WOW!Vlad Drkulec, President, Chess Federation of Canada, chess coach, FIDE instructor, National Master (Canada and U.S), National Arbiter, and MBA

Baseline to Ideal
Like the process that was given where your athlete is and where you are going to get him to be, great book to stop, pause, reflect then implement iteration after iteration on your ideal training plan for myself I have enjoyed this book and will be using again and again
