Great tool set
I was looking for a set of 6-point sockets to finish out my tool collection, and after comparing prices of other "just" socket sets (ratchets and extensions not included), I actually found that this GearWrench set offered a better collection of sockets at a better price, and the ratchets and extensions were icing on the cake. These sockets are well made and I've already used them several times and they are holding up well. The sockets are stamped (not etched) with large numbers indicating their sizes so they are easy to read. The ratchet is comfortable in your hand and has the low-profile head (without the socket release button) which I am a big fan of because it lets you get into tighter spaces. Some people like the socket release button, so I guess this is just a matter of what your personal preference is. The ratchet operates very smoothly and has (I think) 60 teeth, so it doesn't take a long sweep of the handle to get your bolt/nut turning. They come in a nice case if you want to carry them around, but the case doesn't have handle--not an issue for me since I put them all in my toolbox and threw the case away. Additionally, I also purchased the 1/2" 6-point GearWrench set as well, and pretty much everything I've said about the 3/8" set applies to the 1/2" set as well. Both are very good sets.I'm not a professional mechanic, just a guy that enjoys having nice tools and turning wrenches on the weekends, so I look for well-made tools at reasonable prices. I do have a few (very few) ratchets/wrenches from some of the big name "tool truck" companies and they are very nice, but I can't justify filling my toolbox with those expensive--often overly-priced--tools. I won't buy the cheapest tools (even if I know I may only use it once), but I also won't buy the most expensive just because of the name stamped on the tool. I'm not using these tools daily as a mechanic/technician would, and my livelihood doesn't depend on my tools.I'm very happy with this purchase, and am certain that some day I'll be passing these very same tools down to my grandson (or granddaughter!).

Sometimes, you'll get the same quality with a different label, for less
I'll start with Danaher. Now, Danaher makes Matco Tools, Armstrong, Silver Eagle, Kobalt, Craftsman, NAPA, Allen, Gear Wrench, and K-D Tools. I’m actually not sure if they are called Danaher anymore, they may be called Apex Group, or split in two forming Danaher and Apex but regardless, they’re all under the same umbrella, which is why you’ll find many similarities between these products if you look closely. Now before we get crazy and say that Kobalt is just as good as Armstrong, we must understand this does not mean they’re all of the exact same quality, or even made in the same place. Some of Matco and Armstrong tools are finer than craftsman or kobalt, by a considerable amount. Just know the battle between Kobalt, craftsman and gearwrench, Sometimes, can be a bit silly. But sometimes..... its not. So let’s break it down like this,Danaher owns the following:Matco Tools = very high endArmstrong = industrial high endSilver eagle = industrialKobalt/Craftsman/Napa/Allen/Gearwrench/K-D = home, hobby, otherwise light use.Starting with silver eagle, you’ll begin to find more Taiwan/China made products, though they are still tough and respectable as far as usable tools go. Sometimes, you’ll find name brands at the bottom of this list can float into the industrial side of the world in quality, I see this often with Napa. Quality and features in the bottom list seems to always be floating around, keeping the market busy and tool sales up from people who don’t use or need tools every day with an attempt to spark interest. And on occasion, some of the great quality at the top of the list will trickle down to some of the lower end brands because of some bulk materials or other various reasons. So let me get to the actual product being review here. First off the ratchets in this kit. They’ve put out a pretty decent tool at a fair price here. The internals of these ratchets you’ll find to be quite similar to the craftsman low profile ratchet #44995, which is a fantastic ratchet by the way. This gearwrench brand simply has 84 teeth instead of the 60 the craftsman had. The gearwrench is also not a quick release design which makes this ratchet stronger than the #44995. And I feel they have not overdone the tooth count either. I’ve pulled a great deal of torque on this ratchet with confidence and the clicking sounds very positive. These ratchets are far superior to the run of the mill craftsman. If you ask me, I’d say these gearwrench 84 tooth ratchets are a hybrid of the craftsman low-profile and the craftsman premium 84 tooth ratchet. Both great tools. The thumb ratchet in this kit has the exact same head with a shorter handle. The sockets are great, STAMPED with sizes on two sides of each socket which is great for finding the one you need, and wont wear off like this "laser etched" crap. The fit and finish of these are pretty good too. Just this morning I abused the 1/2” deep socket with a breaker bar + 3ft cheater with no issues, which is what sparked me to write the review. But, like any brand, including the high end, they will break if you push them hard enough, I have yet to see adamantium sockets on the market. You’ll find the Napa labeled sockets to be very similar to gearwrenches.Give this kit a go. These tools should last a long time.

Many features make these sockets superior!
--RANT ON--First off, one of the best features of these GearWrench sockets is the fact that they are well marked by "STAMPING".Many other brands of sockets have now gone to a "laser etched" method of marking, which is far inferior. This etching is hard to read, and easily wears off. Soon you have a tool that you can't tell what size or brand it is.Guess what happens if you try to get warranty on it? "Sorry Sir. That tool can't be identified as OUR brand."--RANT OFF--A very complete set of high quality metric and standard sockets that doesn't skip any sizes. Not mentioned in the description is that the sockets use a "flank drive" profile to minimize fastener head rounding.Another not adequately described feature is the deep sockets. Most deep sockets have the fastener drive opening machined all the way to the bottom of the socket. This can make it difficult to start a bolt, or start threading a nut on, as the fastener slides deep inside the socket. These gearwrench deep sockets have the fastener drive profile machined only as deep as the fastener nut or head, so you can apply a little pressure to the fastener as you begin to thread it.The ratchets are quality, and comfortable to use. A fairly fine 60 tooth count gear mechanism operates smoothly and allows for repositioning every 6 degrees in tight locations.Only two areas to nit-pick, as far as I'm concerned:1. Although the case is well constructed with quality hinges and latches that will last a long time, it does not have a handle.2. The ratchets do not have a quick release button. A feature that I miss.

Regular calidad y caros

Works good
Great set. Only issue is the tools are not always held in place when the lid is closed. Had to add a layer of foam to the underside of the lid to keep them in place all the time, but other than that worth the money.

Good kit, not like the picture
The kit look great and good quality but does have the ratchet with the rubber handle like the picture wich is disappointing because the small one, will probably never use it.
