1001 Guitars to Dream of Playing Before You Die

A nice pictorial history of the guitar
This book does what is says on the tin. Pretty good colour photos and some snippets of information about 1001 guitars. If you are interested in the history of the instrument, or just want to drool over a load of instruments that you will probably never have the chance to play (never mind imagine owning) then this is the book for you - it really does start at the birth of the instrument, going up to the 2000's. Like all of these types of books it is one you will pick up and look at occasionally rather than read through. Interesting and worthwhile - if you are weak willed though it could end up being a very expensive purchase indeed!!!

Amazing
There have been some critical reviews of this book regarding Inaccuracies but as an avid fan of guitars I've noticed many such things in the great number of books I own on the subject, in my opinion this book is no worse than than most. This doorstep sized volume is amazing value for money, after over 50 years of messing around with guitars and amassing a large collection of instruments I thought that there was little left to learn but there are many wonderful, (and some not so wonderful), instruments within this book that I'd never seen or heard of. Buy it and enjoy it for what it is.
