One Drop of Kindness Hardcover – May 3, 2019

I loved the uplifting and overall message of the importance of spreading kindness. With each turned page, my heart beated faster wanting to know what Gus would do and how would he handle what happened to him earlier in life. The illustrations are amazing and shows an appreciation for diversity. Adults and children who read this gem will see a reflection of themselves on every page and that matters. In addition to the celebration of kindness, the author has poignant questions and activity suggestions which contribute tomeaningful conversations, activities, and programs that will positively affect the culture and climate of a classroom and its school. If you want to improve the culture and climate of your school, this book is definitely for you. I have served at every level in education and one of the main things that every student desires is to be excited to go to school everyday. This book shows how one drop of kindness can make that happen. One Drop of Kindness has been added to my favorite book list, and I highly recommend it for students, teachers, and administrators.

This lovely book is reminder to us all, young and old, that kindness is all we need!! The story is compassionate and the illustrations are beautiful. It takes us on a journey from darkness to light. I will be getting it for all my nieces and nephews and also many of the grown ups in my life. We never know who needs our kindness so Gus reminds us to be generous with all the love we have to give!

Jeff Kubiak did an amazing job sharing a story on such an important topic in such a meaningful way! His main characters, Gus and Truly, are characters students of all ages can relate to on so many levels. This book comes at a time when the push for kindness is needed more than ever before, and this is just the book to bring about a movement!! It can be used with your own children, classes of all ages, and entire schools! Definitely a book to get and share with others over and over again!!

I heard about the book One Drop of Kindness on Twitter in the education chats. After seeing how other educators were so excited about the message, I decided to check it out. I am glad I did! This beautifully written and illustrated book features diverse characters, a strong, positive message, and will fit in easily with the Character program we already have at our school. There are options for discussions and activities so parents and/or teachers can take the message from the pages in the book and apply it to their lives. I can't wait for the school year to start so I can share this book with my school.

I bought this book for a guidance lesson but decided not to use it because it’s a little scary!

This book takes us through the journey of Gus and how one drop of kindness can really change the world and bring color and joy back into life. As we go through the book, "One drop of kindness is all it takes to fill a heart with love" is on every page and becomes and anthem that is planted in your heart and resonates. My daughter loves this book and has asked to read it every night since we have purchased it. Whether you are a parent or a teacher, the message of being kind is perfect for your home or classroom. I had been following Jeff on Twitter and when his book came out I had to have it. Little did I know the relationship I would soon develop with Jeff. I met him at the NAESP conference in Spokane and fell in love with his shirt and from there the message of his book really begin to hit home. My family at Rosa Parks Elementary had to have a copy for their classroom. Rosa Parks' famous quote, "Live your life as a model," truly is the strong message that comes from Jeff's book. Everyday we have a choice to spread kindness or negativity! "One Drop of KIndness" inspires you to do better for others, to fill a person's heart with love! What will you do today to spread kindness in the world to change the lives of others? If it is to be, it is up to ME! I can't thank Jeff enough for the journey of kindness Rosa Parks Elementary is about to embark on! Blessings my friend!

As the principal of an early childhood center with preschoolers and kindergartners, I used this book as my November Principal's Read Aloud, and everyone loved it! We also did a short activity after the read aloud where each class filled in a large blue drop with ways they could show kindness. The drops for all the classes were hung in the lobby on each side of a screen that projected an image of the cover of the book with the quote that repeats throughout the book. I did have to shorten some of the pages and language for our youngest preschoolers, but it was still a huge success!! I would highly recommend this book for all ages!! Even for adults! :)
