TennscoTNNJ1878SUBK - Assembled Jumbo Steel Storage Cabinet

The actual cabinet itself is pretty good, but based on my experience and the other reviews I am seeing these things seems to frequently arrive in significantly damaged condition. I mean I am not that much of a stickler for the aesthetics of such items, so I wasn't too bothered that it came with a scrape zone two feet long and a few inches wide along one of its sides that leaves an obvious scrape and even removed paint randomly in that area. What did bother me though was that it looked like the cabinet had been more or less dropped on its upper left corner which was crushed in so badly I couldn't even mount the top shelf on the higher brackets inside it until I savagely beat the whole cabinet closer to being back in its proper shape in the afflicted area using a rubber mallet (saving the cardboard packing it came in proved useful to make a better cushion for the mallet to strike and thus reducing further damaged in the process of trying to fix the cabinet by beating it back into shape).Also troubling, whatever trauma the cabinet had been through in delivery also caused it to loose one of the plastic grommets that guided its door locking mechanism, causing the upper door-bar to fall out whenever the door was opened. I managed to randomly kluge together a piece to fix it from materials I had on hand ... but how long will that hold, and where do I find a proper replacement part for that grommet in the mean time? There are also a bunch of little bent bracket pieces I found floating around on its inside that seem like they might have been important for reinforcing things, but they are bent now and I can't figure out where all of them came from so trying to restore those has become a task that is now moot. One of the most bent brackets actually just dropped out of the package while I was unwrapping it and before I had opened the doors where most of its free-floating brethren were to be found.The cabinet is still clearly not 100% after working on it to undo some of the damage accrued in shipping, but at least I got it to the point where I can attach the upper shelves, open and close the door without the upper door-bar falling out every time, and whatever those brackets helped reinforce they don't seem to be 100% critical for holding the thing together thankfully. Even though there is a lot of clear wrapping, none of this fairly significant damage was visible until the cabinet was more or less completely unwrapped ... well minus that one bent bracket that had pretty much wormed its way out of the packing on its own somehow.It was expected to be delivered Dec 28. After that day came and went I was told Jan 4th. It eventually appeared around the 15th of January and the other smaller one I ordered it with that were listed to ship at the same time arrived a week even later then that.

The cabinet works great. The look is ok, but the paint finish is not the best. It has some run marks on the front of the cabinet. Not a big deal, but I wish the runs were in the back of it were you could not see it. I use it to store ammo and it's heavy! The shelves do bow a little from front to back because there are no cross braces on the shelves. I think this is normal and they still look they hold the weight fine. The delivery was a mess! The first day I had set for delivery no one showed or called. I called them later that day and they said it was late arriving and they just got it in my city that afternoon. Of course no deliveries were available until the following week. So the following week they deliver it and it has a huge dent in the front of the cabinet. I refused delivery, called Amazon, and had a replacement sent. This time I did get a call the day before the delivery from an automated system telling me to pick a new delivery time. Again it was late getting to my city, but at least a robot called me. I chose the option to speak to a rep and the call was disconnected. I had to call Amazon again and work out a new delivery time.

Just received our assembled Jumbo Steel Storage Cabinet. Inspected the item before the shipper left and could not find any visible dents or scratches. The shipper left we took off all the plastic wrap and cardboard and behind one of the cardboard strips was a 3 inch dent/scratch. It is visible because the scratch also removed the paint.It is ginormas and we are not going to request a replacement so we will hide the scratch with a decal.Overall it is what we expected and it is sturdy and for the money will be perfect for what we plan to use it for.Just beware and really LOOK at the piece before the shipper leaves.

Nice cabinet. This thing is fairly large. Holds quite a bit. The only issue I had was I had to contact the seller a couple times because the unit did not arrive on the specified date. Took a couple weeks to get straightened out.

I don’t have a lot of storage space in my house. I purchased this unit because of its size and weight capacity. My complaint about this unit is that I received it with several noticeable dents. I decided to keep it since the cabinet is not visible to my visitors, other than that its a pretty sturdy cabinet.

Very strong; in the garage, holding some small kitchen appliances that I don’t use very often.Appreciate that it came fully assembled. Had the place that I wanted the cabinet to in ready and the delivery driver rolled it right into the exact place I wanted it in the garage. Yay! 😀

This cabinet is quality all the way; both in materials and workmanship. I bought it for my home office and even the paint quality is great. I had to go to Grainger to find a couple of extra shelves for it and the quality control is great there too. I looked for the extra shelves on Amazon but couldn't find them. The cabinet costs a little more than other brands but it is worth it.

The cabinet was wrapped in plastic and had no protection on the doors. One door had a dent.
