Recommend putting it on as early in your bike's life ...
Can be frustrating to install, but makes a huge difference in first-second shifting. Recommend putting it on as early in your bike's life as possible to prevent unneeded wear on your gears.I want to stress how important this modification is to the YZF600R. My bike just blew out second gear (thanks to the engineering flaws you're probably aware of if you're looking at purchasing this mod) at 16,000 miles and I wish I had put this on sooner to prevent damage.TL;DR: You're going to shift more firmly and protect your bike's transmission with this mod.

I installed this while rebuilding the transmission, well worth it. When I got the bike the transmission shifting was always sloppy, would sometimes miss second and stay in neutral, got to where you had to preload the shift just for it to work right. With this and my rebuilt trans the bike is AWESOME! Great shifting and with the heavy duty spring it actually takes less effort to get it to shift.

Works Perfectly! I installed on a 1998 YZF600R. Shifts on a dime! A lot more responsive! Would recommend to anyone!!!
