this was purchased for my daughter as she had become fascinated with my torch....i am disappointed that the colours are as little weak and the 'white' isn't really white either, most notably the 'red' shines a weak pink.i remember a similar item from my own childhood that was far superior as a torch albeit it did not have the sounds this has.the sounds are clearly spoken and make the torch quite fun and interactive...even educational.but as a torch i lacks a little...yes i know its a toy, and really its not that bad....but the fact that you can't just switch on the torch part without the sound effects and flashing leaves it feeling inadequate.build quality is excellent and i have no doubt it would survive some serious playtime activities, i guess i was just expecting something a little different

I bought this for my daughter's Christmas when she was 18 months and it has been a success. Like all V-tech toys, there is some highly irritating singing, but she is thrilled by the ladybird on the handle and by shining it at the walls. Now that she's a bit older, she can name the animals and colours and turn the top part. We have found in general that V-tech toys are pretty good value and that the kids love them and mercifully the manufacturers thought to include two volume settings!

Bought it for my little one when 1.5 yr old. It did not provoke much interest then. But at 2 it is a great toy, it is entertaining and makes them discover colours and coordination since they discover how their hands can produce movement and effects. It is a nice toy in principle before bedtime except that the music is very loud and it does not have a more calm melody for the wind down time before bed. It is too bad because I know my little one would have played with it until falling asleep but with the current melodies he just won't fall asleep.

Nice toy, not an annoying voice like some but it could do more like being able to turn on and off the light yourself like for a real torch. Also the coloured lights could be more vivid as all are pale it's actually hard to tell what colour it is. I do like though that it continues with what it is teaching if another button is pressed instead of changing to the new thing like most toys seem to. It would make a nice gift for someone.

Brilliant idea to have a twisting head that allows different colours to be emitted. Great for teaching colours and numbers. Item is well made and very sturdy. Another bonus is that it was well over 6 months before we changed the batteries. Two volume settings made into the on/off switch is a great feature too.makes a great gift.
