The City of Ember

I also first saw the movie and then read the book. I'm glad I did because it was fun reading this book. Shortly after reading it I ordered all the other books in the Ember series. Now reading 'People of Sparks'.If you've seen the movie, it's worth reading the book because not everything that happened in the movie, happens in the book (for example: the fate of the mayor is very different, also certain characters aren't present or play a lesser role).I recommend it to even grown ups!

Very nicely written book. I read this after seeing the film, and although I liked the film I preferred the way the plot went in the book and liked the style of writing as well. I'm keen now to read the others in the series.

Ember is very good as it has suspense and mystery. I would rate this book four and a half stars because it had a bit of a slow start. I however would not recommend the film because it is nothing like the book and the characters are different.

Brought this after watching the film. The book is not very long but it you watch the film before you can picture the movie as you read along.

Bought this for my 9 year old daughter- I picked it up to check it over and read the whole thing- great adventure story - bought the movie after- also v good
