Okay let me start by saying we own about 10 thermometers! We have one of every kind because someone's husband who shall remain nameless was sent for one and didn't know which to buy so we have definitely tried them all. This thermometer is the absolute most accurate when used under the arm in my experience which is from newborn to toddler. You cannot beat the accuracy matched with the 9 second result. And the 9 seconds matters don't let anyone tell you any different! Most children will not hold still any longer. And the results are more accurate even than the ear thermometer which is what they use at the dr's office.Buy this product and you won't have to buy all the others which are a waste of your money.

This is the thermometer we reach for first, of the three we have purchased. It is consistently a fast read, providing an accurate temperature within seconds, so you don't have to hold a squirming little one with the thermometer clamped under their arm.The display is big enough that my two-year-old can watch the numbers climbing as his axillary temp is being taken, which encourages him to hold still.It provides a pleasant beeping when it is done reading, and a more urgent beeping if the temp is into fever zone.As an added bonus, it is quite well sealed, and therefore has a good level of water-resistance, which always helps when you are dealing with a sick child!

After purchasing several other thermometers, this is the only underarm thermometer we have had any confidence in. It is fast and fairly consistent. It is an underarm thermometer, so no, it will not replace an oral or rectal thermometer. But, because this thermometer is so fast and minimally invasive (our son says we are taking his "tickle temp"), we can use it whenever we have even the slightest suspicion that our child has a temperature. We have noticed that repeated readings are usually within about .3 degrees of each other. If the temperature is high, we take a more accurate (read: more invasive) temperature.Don't know what we would do without this thermometer.

This really is an underarm digital thermometer that gives you results in 8 seconds!!!! It is so awesome, I bought one for my midwife as a gift. Now she can take newborns temps very fast without upsetting them. Highly recommended and the best on the market.

We bought this for our son before he was born, and found over the course of several months that we couldn't get accurate readings with it. Our doctor recommended rectal readings as the most accurate. We took his advice and switched to using a rectal thermometer, and have never had a problem since.Three star rating because it works, just not as well as other methods.
