A beautiful large knife
At the time of review you can buy this 10” knife for just under £140This box arrived with all the usual plastic which I removed before the videoThe item arrived in a plain cardboard box with this black box inside, with all that protection it arrived unscathed in perfect condition. In the box is an engraved stainless steel bladed 10” kitchen knife with an ebony coloured wooden handle. There is red inlay in the stainless steel and between the steel and the wooden handle.A green microfibre cleaning cloth is provided. The advert on Amazon provides a video to show how sharp the knife is and, as you would expect from a new knife it is very very sharp.Everything from the knife itself to the packaging is high quality and beautifully finished. The engraving says 67 layers Damascus SteelI hope you find the real world video of the knife and the review helpful if you are considering buying one for a budding chef or perhaps a loved one, it is beautifully presented and nicely engraved gift.

After 60+ days of use this knife is not worth the price!
I’ve used this knife over an extended period in my profession as a chef and I was not very impressed with the knife. It’s a decent knife at best but definitely not the quality you’re looking for at its price. What bothered me was the knife seem overly large especially the handle which was also heavy and the “ergonomic” shape ended up being uncomfortable over time and the weight of the knife was not pleasant over long periods. The knife dulls quick and feels much too waxy/soft I don’t believe it is the type of steel as advertised. It’s a pretty looking knife but you can get much better for your money. I have a cheap knife that stays sharper longer than this knife does.

Beautifully presented knife
Seem to hear about Japanese knifes online all the time these days, whether through podcast ad's or just general ad's online.Straight off the bat, there's a "made in china" sticker slapped on the outer box so this it's dubious at best about the Japanese claims here. This aside it's still a gorgeous knife and arguably one of the nicest I've ever laid hands on. The Damascus steel finish is subdued and not too in your face, it's visible when in the right lighting. Hammered effect is also nice. What really caught me off guard was the weight of the knife and the handle. It's the smoothest handle I've ever touched and fits in the hand perfectly. Weight wise this is a hefty piece of kit. Does take some getting used to for sure.As for the knife itself. It's solid! I've tested on several vegetables like tomatoes and onions as well as portioning a whole chicken and it's made light work of everything so far. Glides through like butter. The only thing I can't comment on at the moment is the longevity of the blade. Going off of the build quality i'd like to think this will last many years if maintained well with a whetstone but time will tell.I'm giving this a 4* just down to the murky origins of this knife. If you can look past that then this is still a fantastic knife and will probably be the best among the rest in the kitchen.
