For years I’ve only used the Internet whilst safely hidden under a lace table cloth. Every time I’m finished using the computer, I unplug it and bury it in the garden. Well, no more as finally, I’ve found a solution to the widespread ‘Enemy Of The State’ monitoring.The tabs came well packaged and are self explanatory to affix, though instructions are provided. If using an iMac, be smart and attach the tab vertically rather than horizontally to save blocking the light sensor that adjusts the screen’s brightness.A simple yet smart solution to covering your computer’s camera. Ideal for closing when in a video conference so that your bosses can still hear you, but can’t see you flipping them off. Also great for emergencies where you need to lose the visual quickly, without terminating the call, say for instance, you’re the BBC’s Korean Political Expert, you’re broadcasting live to London when your kids come wading in behind you and although you’re wearing a tie and jacket, from the waist down you’re just wearing underwear so can’t leap up to grab them... and other scenarios.

I've always had a sticker over my laptop webcam, but it was getting annoying having to take it off and apply a new one every time I needed to use the camera. These are a bit pricey for what you're getting, but the quality is fantastic and it's the type of product that's a one-off purchase anyway.Very small and thin, and almost unnoticeable. As one of the other reviewers said, turn on the webcam when you're putting these on so you can see that you're not blocking the camera (thanks for the great tip!). The placement is a bit tricky - once it's on, it's not going to move. They are not reusable, so you can't take one off a device and apply it to another one. Completely blacks out your webcam (no light comes through at all).So easy to use on a day-to-day basis - not really a necessary purchase, but very handy if you occasionally want to use the webcam and are also conscious of privacy (or like me, you've just finished watching Black Mirror). It gives you the peace of mind that if your computer is ever hacked or if ~the government is watching~ that nobody can see you.

I'm always surprised how expensive these little things are, this one seemed to be the most reasonably priced one. Works very well, both on my Dell and Macbook Air, adhesive sticks well, it slides well open and close, its small and thin, so doesn't take up too much space, and doesn't block the laptop from closing fully. Because its small, it is a bit fiddly to stick on, especially making sure you're not blocking the camera (tip: turn on the webcam when you install so you can make sure you're not blocking anything!)

Not tonnes to say about these - they do exactly the job they were meant for, and do it well.They’re easy to install and hold their own, but also easy to remove when needed. Great value for money.They do have to be installed fairly accurately to make sure they don’t block the camera, as there isn’t much margin for error, but can be moved a little if needed.My only observation (and this isn’t a criticism of the product, just something I hadn’t considered), is that on thin laptops, these can cause a bit of confusion. I installed one on a laptop which is primarily used via an external monitor with the lid closed. For a few days, we had problems with the mouse, and eventually worked out that the trackpad was registering the webcam cover as a touch, therefore interfering with the use of the external mouse. We now leave the laptop lid propped slightly open.Regardless of this, we’ve been very happy with the webcam covers and will no doubt buy again when we get any new devices.

Very simple but very effective.Peel off the blue sticky plastic, ensure the cover is set to open, position over the webcam, push down to ensure a good seal is made. I've used 1 on my iPad and the other on my laptop.It slides from open/closed or closed/open very easily, but also stays in position until moved.Total blackout (ie totally secure) if positioned correctly.
