KS2 English SAT Buster 10-Minute Tests: Reading - Book 1 (for the 2022 tests)

These books are very useful. No question. I have used them in school for Year 6 pupils for years. To be honest, I was getting bored of the 'old' books one and two so when I saw 'new' ones, I thought (reasonably?), "Oh good, they've brought out some new ones." I 'looked inside' to check and, indeed, saw that the comprehension passage they show in the sample was indeed brand new. Excellent, I thought, and ordered copies of both book 1 and book 2. When they arrived, I was cross to say the least. The books differently laid out and there are some new puzzles, but in both books (about 36 texts in total) there are only about four or five new texts. Shameful. Not new at all. Back they went.The books are highly recommended as long as you haven't seen the 'non new' ones. But if you have, this is a waste of money.

“We use these types of books at school Mammy”; is the reassuring response from presenting this book to my 9 year old. Each comprehension is a simple five minute read - full page of an A5 size book. Then there are around 5 questions. All in all, it takes her about 10-15 minutes to complete. We do one a week alongside “reading plus” at home. Reading comprehension is a very important skill to have in life and this is a great resource alongside others to help children perfect this skill.

I have just started secondary school and I found the SAT Busters books really helpful for SATs this year. The only thing I found wrong was that they didn't actually explain how to do anything but the practise tests were incredibly helpful.

Having passed the Kent and Dover tests with impressive scores, our daughter then had to sit her Key Stage 2 SATS. This book and the others in its sseries appear to have given her the refresher course she needed to do well.

These books are brilliant, my wife uses them with the children and they have had hours and hours of enjoyable learning, very in depth and like real life school learning. Highly recommended
