Dorman97503 Liftgate Latch Handle Compatible With Select Hummer Models

GM no longer sells the back handle for my 2005 H2 so I bought this one and my dealer installed it. I've seen lots of reviews where you can do it yourself - I prefer to have someone else do the work. :)

So I was backing out of my garage with the hatch up one day I know...stupid). The worst part is that I heard the sound of breaking and didn't even realize I had left the hatch up. Anywho, I called two places before checking Amazon. The first place was Autozone, who started it would take a week to arrive at a cost of around $700 bucks. The second place was a King Cadillac dealership. The parts associate stated the part would cost $939. I told the associate I only need the handle. She explained that I had to buy the whole locking assembly. She went on to say it wasn't sold separately. After, calming my nerves, I decided to check Amazon. I found the part I needed in a matters of seconds for a cost of $25+ plus tax. After I received this part I took it to a local mechanic, who charged me $55 bucks to attach the handle. I'm very pleased with the price and performance of this product.

Good inexpensive replacement for rear hatch release handle. Relatively easy install once everything is apart.
