Mr. Men Adventure with Superheroes

I'm going to be honest, we are not big fans of the original Mr Men books in our house. I know they are classics, but I find them awfully dull to read aloud. Speaking as a teacher, they also don't lend themselves well to sharing with a large group of children due to their ridiculously small size (although I can see how they are the perfect size for small hands to flick through by themselves).However, I stumbled across these new adventures, based around themes such as superheroes, dinosaurs and pirates, in a high street book store and thought they looked interesting. They are also larger than the original Mr Men books so I purchased a few for my class, many of whom are fans of the original classics (thank you Amazon for being far cheaper than said high street chain!).They have been a huge hit, especially with the boys! Incorporating these much loved characters into adventures based around the children's current interests is a stroke of genius and, in my opinion, makes for a much better read than the original individual character based stories.

Bought the book for my twin nephews who love Mr Men. They absolutely love the story but be aware, it’s quite a large book so won’t fit nicely alongside all the other Mr Men books which is a shame. Hence the 4 stars.
