Q: What are the drawer dimensions?

I gave this to my grandkids last year, but I do remember they are quite small! I put very small things in them such as a Hershey's kiss, a nickel & dime, Tootsie Roll, and then I put little notes saying "ask mom or dad to pick from a surprise bag" of goodies I got from the dollar store. They LOVED it. They loved taking turns opening the drawers each day. Hope this helps.

Q: does this come with toys, candy and messages in the drawers?

No. you only get the advent calendar, but it is very nice. Really cute! You will have to add the small candies or toys yourself. We bought it for our "grand dogs" and it fits 6 plus of the very small mini dog bones.
