There is a battery ... SR626SW ... mine arrived dead, but you can order a pack of 5 for around $5.50 ... Energizer 377 / 376 Watch Batteries (Pack of 5) replaces the original battery.

Q: Can I adjust the speed of this watch? Mine gains about 8 minutes per day.

Sorry, you can set time but you can not change the speed of this watch. Thanks.

Q: Does it come with a watch tool?

No. It is a pocket watch with a chain. You will have to buy a tool to open the back if you need to change the battery. I will say though that my watch has been very accurate keeping time.
