$100 Superior Quality
Superior QualityIt's the best hands-free light I've ever bought.Light weight by magnesium alloy outperforms aluminum. The lens also used anti-reflective glass. It's not plastic. But the battery cap is aluminum. This brightness with one 18650 is amazing. The brightness is also honestly overflowing to use for work.be suitable for mountain sports. Also, only button-top batteries are available. This seems to be due to safety reasons.I've been using about 5 Chinese products so far, but they're broken too oftenI bought an expensive one and it's definitely a great quality.

Love it
Haven’t had extensive use yet, but this is the brightest headlamp I’ve ever owned. Not too heavy. Battery lasts. Love it so far

Bright, good battery life, headstrap needs some work
I purchased this HM65R Fenix Headlamp to upgrade previous lights mainly to target brightness, battery life and comfort. For the most port, it succeeds in these areas but there are some caveats.I use headlamps on a daily basis for both indoor work on small electronics and outdoors for recreation (typically camping, hiking and walks). This review is geared mainly for the outdoor usage. The package contains the headlamp, charging cable, battery and a battery case. The unit is pre-assembled.Charging via the onboard USB-C can be accomplished without removing the battery. This is notable as some models have the charging circuit on the battery itself. Via the USB-C cable, it took approximately 90 minutes to show fully charged but the battery was not fully discharged before charging. On a fully discharged 21700 battery, my external charge can charge in about 2.5 - 3 hours. The headlamp will also charge (though slowly) through a solar charger in the Florida sun but it is quite slow.Adjusting the headstrap was a little annoying. I have been told that I have a massive, satellite sized cranium. I wear XXL hats. After I adjusted the main strap, the top strap wouldn't lie straight down the center of my head. I fussed with it for a good 15 minutes but it appears to be a design flaw. From a comfort persepective this was annoying and I'm a bit pedantic when it comes to these things. If you have a smaller skull, it's likely this will never be an issue. The only thing that offsets this is that the unit itself is considerably lighter than one of the units it replaces. This other unit (pictured in the attached image), has the battery pack at the rear which adds to the weight. It also somewhat replaces another unit which has a waist-mounted battery pack, but I found the long cable from head to waist to be annoying.Brightness is the most important feature for my needs. In this regard, this HM65R is excellent. There are two LED lamps which can be adjust independently for total of 16 possible configurations (off-1-2-3 for both). Indoors the lower level outputs work fine for my needs. Outdoors it's a huge improvement over other lights I've used and to the previous Fenix lights. Along beaches with light ordinances (e.g., turtle hatchery), the spotlight does an excellent job of distance illumination. The flood light at medium and high settings is bright enough to penetrate a waist-deep water. I do miss having a red lamp however, but it's not a critical feature for the majority of my needs. In camp, the lowest light setting was sufficient for my needs.Lastly, battery life is very good. I had the flood light on medium for over two hours continuously without noticeable decrease in brightness. The spotlight was still available when I needed it. For another 90 minutes I used the flood light at the lowest brightness. Capacity was still over 60% when I came home and dropped the battery into the external charger. This is on par with another light (see attached image) which has dual 18650 batteries.I do have another "professional" lamp that costs almost twice as much, but the HM65R is on par with it. All said, if Fenix fixes the strap issue, this will be my go-to headlamp.

Brightest Headlamp I’ve Ever Owned
This headlamp is so bright. The first one i bought as a gift for my husband from a jewelry store that sold Fenix.I was so impressed with the amount of lumens and the fact that they will replace the band if it ever breaks sold me. My husband and I absolutely LOVE the fact that it is rechargeable. No more packing extra batteries or hoping we have enough in a stand.I love the different settings. And we fought over it so much, I decided it was time to buy another one. The power, battery life and flexibility of this headlamp is hands down superior than any other headlamp we have both used. We intended to use it for hunting but have found that it has become almost an essential part of our everyday lives. It lives in my husbands car and he finds himself needing it on the construction sites. I have used mine to help find some lost car keys in the dark for my neighbor. Don’t hesitate. You will love it too. This isn’t a cheap headlamp, but well worth the investment! It’s quality.

Favorite one so far.
I have the HP25, HL55, HL60R, and now this one. I like all those 3, and all 3 still work, but this one is my first pick due to the flood light which I had on the HP25 but that uses 4 AA batteries (2013 model). I'd buy any one of them again. The 4 blue led battery indicator on the top is handy.Edit: Going to nerd out a little more between a few of the lamps. The HL55 : is great. One light, perfect flood, great transition to the hot spot with some throw. The lens is probably my all time favorite Fenix has made. Great low light mode up to high. Differentiators with this would be: not rechargeable from the case, pro is turning it on is one quick button press (you don't need to hold), and the ability to adjust the headlamp both up AND down (I'm currently using this one on my mountain bike helmet with the mount available. Also notable is the "turbo" mode has a 30 second boost in contrast with the "turbo" mode on the other models (which also turn off after hitting it's temperature limit).HL60R : Same as the HL55...but rechargeable via usb from the case. Same in my opinion perfect lens as the HL55. A pro or con would be this light turns on with a longer press instead of the quick press. Plus is that this light has a battery capacity indicator showing you how much juice is left. Another plus is the red low light led's. Perfect for dark situations where you don't want your to re-adapt from brighter or white light.HM65R : Love the flood when it's needed. Very close to 100% consistent lighting. Spot works very well. Both on and you basically have the lens of the HL60R. The band on this lamp is a little nicer than the 55 or 60R. Battery indicator via 4 small blue leds is also great. Seemingly very long or improved battery life with more control over the output (flood, spotlight, and levels of each). Only thing I'd maybe like to see is either a moonlight mode for flood and/or adding a red led like the HL60R.I think that's about all that comes to mind for now. Will update if anything changes.
