Condar Inferno Stove Top Meter (3-30) thermometer measures temperatures on stove top

Q: Can this thermometer sit on top of a pancake griddle surface for extended period of time?

I have mine on a wood burner for an extended period of time measuring temperatures in excess of 600 to 700 degrees F with no problem. It performes well. It should be OK with this application.

Q: Is this meter magnetic

Yes, it has a ring magnet on the back of the meter, and is fairly strong. It holds in place even if bumped.

Q: Does this have a handle so it can be easily lifted off the stove top? It looks like it does in the picture but it's hard to tell.

Yes, the unit has a little wire bail I suppose you could leave it standing up in the middle so you could easily grab it, not sure if it would stay in that position on its own. As it is pictured, over on the side, you almost have to use a fingernail to get enough purchase to swing it up, hard to do with gloves around a hot stove. The bail/handle does work well for placement on the stove. Overall I love mine and refer to it multiple times throughout the day.

Q: We have a Dutchwest Convection stove (with the catalytic combuster in it). Will this work to replace our temperature probe?

Good Afternoon Brianne,Our Inferno Stove Top Thermometer magnetically attaches to the top, front or side surface of your stove and is calibrated to measure Fahrenheit temperatures on the top of your stove. The probe thermometer measures gas temperatures behind your catalyst which gets much hotter than the stove temperature. Using the Inferno Stove Top thermometer is not going to give you an accurate reading like the probe.
