For the young and young-at-heart.
I bought this Playmobil Okapi set for my wife (!) who adores okapi and also likes visual distractions! I can see us ending up with a small zoo in her room. Some women like jewellery, others...well...For my first encounter with the Playmobil ecosystem I have to say that the quality is all there. They are sturdy enough to handle typical use and probably even a moderately destructive little...darling. They even capture a bit of the charm of the real okapi, with a fairly cute face and that air of being a failed giraffe that lounges around in its pyjamas. The adult ones in the set are the size of a typical adult's palm so, for little hands, they are nicely substantial things to play with. The calf is a lot smaller and perhaps a bit less child-friendly if that child is still putting things in their mouth. As playthings they will work well, being posable (joints at shoulder for the neck, and at the top of each leg, and shoulder-only for the calf) and are somewhat educational and certainly are a nice addition to a Playmobil zoo if only for their strange fashion sense. The ears are not as pronounced as a real okapi's, which make the real ones look like animated wingnuts (well, with a bit of imagination), but I can understand the need to keep them safe for children, and also durable. If you're after accuracy you'd probably opt for Schleich models, but these somehow catch a bit of the character, to the point where my wife will doubtless be happy to pose them along the top bezel of her computer monitor!

Disappointing
My 4-y.o. loves his toy animal collection, and he has loads of Schleich, and other brands, but he only has a set of Playmobil ostriches and now these flamingoes. He loves flamingoes. But these... They are super frustrating to use with the little stands they come in, because they don't stay in place! The feet of the flamingo are so narrow that they rarely stay upright and topple over all the time..Basically, not fit for active play...Maybe for display purposes? Now, the flamingoes themselves are cute and colourful, and it is a shame that the stands are an issue, but for me, this is so infuriating, that I am docking 3 stars off this review.Gave this set to my boy over XMas and I have already tried 3 types of adhesives to get the stands to stay in place, and nothing has worked, so fed up about it.I can't understand WHY someone would waste plastic on these stupid stands and simply not make them a part of the actual flamingoes! They are not even totally flat, and the material is so flimsy, they don't "ground" the flamingoes.

Excellent
I can never fault any playmobil item I purchase. Some people say that they are expensive for what you get, however I disagree. My eldest son is 16, and he had playmobil and it is still going strong for my 4 year old son to use. It lasts for years. Never had a piece break and have brought probably well over £1000 worth. Just need to use a playmate and ensure younger children know to keep it on there otherwise you loose tiny pieces to the vacuum cleaner. This set is very good and can be used as a learning tool to explain about endangered animals through play.

Very cute
Loved it - perfect party bag gift or stocking filler. The baby koala is super cute. Once you've put the leaves on the tree, the koalas only really fit in the positions shown in the picture but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment. Yes, it's small for the money but it's good quality and miles better than anything you'd get from a Kinder egg.

Buy now for all the gingers in your life.
As a fully fledged member of the ginger community, it is an absolute pleasure to celebrate all things Titian in my household. It holds me great joy to announce that both my brunette children proclaim this as their favourite playmobil toy. The orangutans are durable, with movable limbs and have lasted as both projectile weapons (thanks to the toddler) and Jungle Book reenactments, courtesy of the 6 year old.Highly recommended.
