Red Dragon Inn: Allies - Witchdoctor Natyli (Red Dragon Inn Expansion) Board Game (SFG015)

Great character and everything arrived in new condition! Only complaint is that the coins and board are smaller than the ones that come with the base game - doesn't affect the gameplay at all but it's a bit annoying to have different sized coins that mean the same thing.

Natyli made an amazing addition to my red dragon inn collection. She is so much fun to learn and play! I also love the lore of her being Phrenk’s niece 😂

She is a good character to add to any game, but Natyli IS weaker than most allies and playing her feels a bit slow?She doesn't have a strong character point (unless you wanna talk about art style, BTW which I really like), and maybe that's her strong point. Since she is and acts more of a nuisance than a character that people should be taking more caution about; most will leave her alone if your play style is passive.In a group, she speeds up the inevitable defeat from over indulgence (by her unique character "abilities"), but when it comes down to the last 2 characters, she has an disadvantage of not hitting hard enough, and a somewhat weak defense and recovery.

Natyli was recently added to our near-complete-collection of RDI. We were excited to add her to the mix and try some new strategies.Natyli's kind of adorable, though she's a bit off. She's Phrenk's (RDI3) niece, which is a nice touch. She's drawn very anime style in comparison to other characters, and her dolls are all very humorously drawn to match the rest of the RDI cast.Natyli's deck has a really nice range of Action cards, and she has the ability to cast one of her hexes (which remain on a character until the hex succeeds or Natyli is knocked out) during Gambling. Her hexes are very cool to use, but Natyli has some serious drawbacks that make her overwhelmingly underpowered against the decks of 2, 3 and 4.Natyli has few defense cards of any kind - she's easy to drink under the table, easy to steal gold from, and easy to knock out. To place a hex, she must successfully hit with an action card (she does have one or two Anytime hexes) or successfully cheat in Gambling. Her most powerful hex, in my opinion, is the Power Hex (reduces all numeric effects during an action phase by 1), and it can simply be passed back to Natyli by passing one's Action Phase. Once Natyli gets to one on one (IF she makes it that far, she is almost always the first character out in our four person games) she's almost guaranteed to fail to hex her target or build any meaningful offense or defense. If she is played as a Gambler, she becomes a huge target for the enormous pile of gold she gains while being unable to defend it or herself.In short - Natyli was a cool idea, but all three of the other RDI Allies are stronger, better characters to use (though Pooky has his faults, too). Natyli is simply woefully unprepared to actually sit with a group of hardened adventurers who have more than enough defense to block her while she has little available to save herself from retaliation.

Have not played her yet, but this looks like it may be my favorite RDI Expansion! She drops three different hexes on the other cahracters that make their lives a little bit more difficult. Just the kind of character a guy like me loves to play! Subtle yet annoiying & not too overpowered that the character will place an immediate bullseye on your back! Thanks RDI!

Red Dragon Inn is, hands down, my favorite game among the ones we own (which includes fun games like Ninja Burger, Munchkin, and Zombie Dice). I used to love playing the priestess, Dierdre. BUT, when we purchased and I started playing Natyli, I discovered my new favorite character! We love to try and play "in character" and so I printed out little paper voodoo dolls to stand in the place of the "dolls" her character plays with. Eventually, I plan to make little cloth voodoo dolls dressed as all the Red Dragon Inn characters. My little girl, slightly crazed voice, with my innocent expression, and playing with my dolls officially creeped out everyone in the game last time I played (well, in a fun way, of course). Sometimes the mechanics of these expansion characters take a little getting used to, especially if you have lots of newbies playing, but it doesn't take long to figure out. I highly recommend RDI and the expansions!

Great character with a great gimmick although depending on your hand you may not use the gimmick of curses so much as one would think.
