I'm on my second 8oz bottle after two full day tattoo sessions. This is my go-to lotion to use 2-4 weeks after a new tattoo. Some people correctly noted that the lotion is not good to use immediately after getting ink. I tried using it in the first week and can confirm that it irritates the skin and stings. The salve is meant to be used initially and the lotion in meant to be used later in the healing process.Once the initial bandage comes off, I recommend only using Hustle Butter for the first few weeks when the tattoo is an open wound. I havent tried the Billy Jealousy salve but that may be a great option also. As the tattoo starts to heal more, I alternate Hustle Butter with this lotion. By week 4, I'm exclusively using this lotion. It's the perfect consistency so that it is absorbed in my skin within 5 minutes or so and I can lay in bed without it getting all over. When I put it on my back in the morning I wait a few minutes for the lotion the be absorbed and then I can put a t shirt on without making a mess. In the first few months I like to use the lotion a few times a day if possible, but I've found that if I put it on in the morning, I can go all day without my skin drying out - and I live in a dry, arid climate.For back tattoos, a lotion applicator stick came in handy. Readily available on Amazon.The smell is absolutely fantastic and I never get tired of it. It's a suitable and pleasing scent for all genders.

This kit is great. Fun and creative packaging that makes taking care of your ink a little more exciting. Billy Jealousy has been very smart with its tattoo kit, by catering to the scruffy gentleman that walks the street.The Tattoo Wash smells AMAZING and really helps polish and exfoliate dead skin that may be dulling your tattoo. It's also gentle enough to use on brand new ink.The Tattoo Salve is nice, a little goes a long way, but I found that it dried up a lot quicker then Aquaphor, which most tattoo artist and owners swear by. That being said all the natural oils that make up the Salve really do help with the healing process and making sure your ink always looks fresh and moisturized.The Tattoo Lotion smelled nice, but it was a little heavy on the floral side and can become a bit overpowering if you're applying it to a larger area. Also it didn't really make my tattoo pop like I thought it would. Nice consistency, but wouldn't recommend for new tattoos because of its strong scent.Once I finish with the kit I would most likely only by the Tattoo Wash because it immediately brightens your tattoo and really does smell amazing. Tattoo Salve is nice as well, but a 2 oz jar should last for at least 6 months.Overall highly recommend the kit as a great gift.
