Fun, easy, addictive kit.
Enjoyed building this! It was straight-forward to assemble and works great. It is addictive to use again and again, and provides a nice, random ending pattern. The instructions on the packaging were fully accurate and will make assembly a breeze for novices and experts alike.Three notes:1) Note that the copper pads are VERY thin. When clipping the leads, make sure to NOT pull on them at all; otherwise you will tear up the pads and render the entire board unusuable.2) The green LEDs are slightly dimmer than the rest of them. This is normal if it ends up being this way on yours.3) NO 9V Battery is included.

Fun project but requires some basic experience with electronic components and soldering
The Velleman MK152 Spinning LED Wheel is a cute little (it is very small, about 2-1/2 inches in diameter) "do-nothing" gadget that was fun to build and fun to play with (for a little while, at least). It comes with all the parts (except a 9-volt battery) and the build instructions are complete albeit a bit cryptic. It would help to have some basic knowledge of electric components (i.e., resistors, capacitors, etc.) to avoid making mistakes during assembly particularly if the assemblier is quite young (less than 10 or 12). It took me, a 74 year old grandpa, about 90 minutes to complete the job. All in all, with some previous experience and considerable patience during the soldering of the components to the circuit board, it was a fun project and well worth the minimal cost of the kit.

Well put together kit, clear instructions, make sure you realize it's just a toy!
I thought I was buying a IR Remote Tester and after completing it, I found out it was a toy. The kit was well made and instructions short and clear, making it a snap to assemble. It gave me a chance to sharpen my soildering skills and completed it in about 30 min. I wouldn't have ordered itif I would have read the description a little closer. The only reason I gave it a four was that it wasn't what I was looking for.

Good soldering and electronics practice. Good PCB layout.
I got this as a beginner soldering project because it looked cool with all of it's flashy lights and such. I am still in the process of soldering all of the parts together as the non-lead solder I got ate up the tips of my soldering iron. I plan on finishing it soon and then editing this review with the results.Overall this is a great little electronics project to practice soldering and learn about all the little electronic parts and how they work together. My only issue so far is that the little colored rings on the resistors are very tiny and I have an issue seeing them, but that's just how the resistors are in general. The instructions are straightforward and basically just tell you where every part should go. If you don't know how to solder properly before getting this, I would recommend looking up some tutorials on YouTube. The circuit board layout seems good, where everything fits how it should according to the instructions.

First Kit Everrrrr!!!
This kit was fun for a 38 year old novice to play with. I got this to learn how to solder circuit board for my holiday light hobby. It was very simple to put together. I must say tho that I learned that not every resistor is the same (hahah had the chance to remove and replace ones I put in the wrong place). Over all, great fun. I took my time with it and had fun. Great toy for on the desk.

Just get something else
Bought it for my 10 year old sister to learn soldering as she seemed very interested in engineering. I was worried about the sparse negative reviews, but I thought what the hell since it was cheap and I was sure it would work. Unfortunately, when we finally finished and put the battery in, it didn't work. Tested with two batteries, same result. Why you might ask? Couple of reasons:1. Poor quality board. If you didn't get the soldering on the first try, the trace might fall off on the second try and will definitely fall off on the third. For a 10 year old who never soldered before, that is very unforgiving.2. Lack of instructions. I had to help in putting the components (especially the resistors), because there was barely any instructions. For the capacitors, diode, etc. it was pretty easy considering it was listed on the small manual of where and how to put them, but not easy enough for a kid to understand. The resistors were much worse; their values were listed on the manual, but that's kind of useless considering that no one looks at that damn chart nowadays for the calculation of resistor values. Had to place the resistors based on the picture in the front of the manual.I'm an electrical engineering student and I had been soldering for a very long time, but it's possible I did a mistake somewhere, maybe switched two resistors by mistake, or maybe one of the traces that fell off (I counted four fall-offs) was the cause of it. I know that a big part of engineering is about making something and approaching problems that arise, but for a 10 year old who just doesn't get it yet, it can get misinterpreted very easily.Absolutely disappointing, 1 star.

Waste of money
Here is why I gave it only two stars. The kit is a total waste of time for a novice in electronic assembly. Nothing is mentioned in the description about needing a tool to hold the unit in place while soldering. Nothing is mentioned about having a Magnifying glass. Nothing is mentioned about experience in figuring out the correct polarity. Nothing is mentioned about the assembly instructions being for a seasoned assembler, not a novice 10 to 14 year old. I assembled "Cards" for years, starting with the old heat products. But this is the worst I have seen. Will not recommend or buy again

Good beginner kit
Fun build though one of the LEDs was dead on arrival. Good instructions and easy to put together.

Gerne wieder.
Alles in Ordnung.

Curioso
Llevo a tiempo. Lo pero ha sido la calidad de la placa ya que al soldar los led se despegan los contactos

Great learning toy
My grandson loved this gadget. Admittedly, it took a bit of fiddling with a soldering iron to get it work, but work it did. With only a little help from me, it took my boy around an hour to get it to work. Handling the hot soldering iron was a first for him (and a traumatic time for me - his mum would not have been happy if her little soldier had been burned), but he enjoyed the achievement, and delighted in the result.

Very good for getting children interested
Very good for getting children interested. These are not expensive so if they make a mistake it is just part of the learning experience.

Four Stars
Quick to do but not all pieces line up quiet right , ok for a beginner xx
