Carly's Gift: A Novel (P.S.)

Oh my🤧
I just finished, so I’m still wiping my eyes. This is an older book but I just came by it this afternoon. I couldn’t understand why Carly just didn’t come out with who the father was, and I wanted to smack Ethan’s face, and then some with the way he acted toward that young girl he had said he would love and cherish as is own if Carly would marry him. What a cold uncaring bastard. ( excuse the language, but when you read the story you will understand). I’m one of those that if I’m not full vested, I jump to the end first to get and inkling on how it will turn out, so I knew the ending, but the book was so captivating that I went back and completed it in itS entirety. Even though I was sorted of prepared, it still hit me hard. The ending is a killer. 🤧💔💙. But I must say it in my opinion is an excellent book in all avenues. And I don’t think Ethan deserves anything for they way he treated those he was supposed to love.

Took me by surprise.
I found this book captivating and remarkable written. The characters were well written as well. I felt myself relating to them. It made me cry, and also made me frustrated with certain circumstances that arose. Carly ends up married to Ethan who was a good friend when she was growing up and the best friend of the man she truly loved David Montgomery. But Carly has a deep secret that she hasn't shared......

One-read deal
I enjoyed this book, but it's one of those you will likely read only once. After you know the truth and all the little mysteries are revealed, you won't be as intrigued by it. The story was based on a common theme, that of possibly having the child of an old flame and not telling your current husband. The characters were a bit stereotypical, yet the book was well-written. It fell down on major things like allowing the teen daughter to live with a 'strange' man far from the home she grew up in, with the parents she had been raised by. Some of the characters were unlikeable, and the actions and events unbelievable. Not bad for a book you might borrow from the library or a friend.

The gift of a daughter
A mother dealing with a hidden past and trying to keep a terrible ordeal a secret marries and provides a wonderful home for her husband who she liked but was never in love with. He raises her daughter as his own but appears to be happy when the young girl believes she is the daughter of her Mom's former boyfriend. He takes on her daughter, provides her with a wonderful home and education and loves her like she is his own. The twist in the story is a page turner. This is one story that you wish would just go on and on. Truly excellent story.

Bockoven's books and I keep "reviewing" them and I feel like i keep saying the same thing
I keep reading Ms. Bockoven's books and I keep "reviewing" them and I feel like i keep saying the same thing. I go to her website and keep buying more. The ease with which she writes literally sucks you right in. This one is just great. I love the storyline and especially the surprises as you go along. You root for your favorite characters along the way. What a great story with jerks and heroes and everything in between. Not a "beach" summer read. This is a real book with real characters that will take you with them.

Carly’s Gift
I would give this 10 stars if I could!! The more I read the more I wanted to read. Character development was excellent...felt like I knew each one personally. This isn’t first book I’ve read by Georgia Bockoven and it wont be the last!

The best book I have read this year!
I loved this book. This book shows how far mothers will go to protect their children, and how far men will go to be with a woman...even if that woman does not really want to be with him.

Very Good Read
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book because love came through the entire time. Carly and her daughter made you realize how important a relationship with your daughter is.I was laughing and crying at the same time bringing out the struggles people go through in their lives. A very good book highly recommend reading it.

wonderfully written
This book had a different story line that intrigued me from the beginning. It takes different twists than you expect and kept my interest to the end.I am now looking at other books she has written as this was my first one I had read of hers.
