Capcom Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection (Nintendo Switch)

It was an excellent idea to release this collection but sadly it was released in all the wrong ways.......I was particularly looking forward to Super Turbo and Alpha 3 but they are a major letdown. Super Turbo's difficulty makes it unplayable even at 1 star and Alpha 3 is the vanilla arcade version. This means no World Tour Mode, Dramatic Battle or Home Exclusive characters etc. Why Capcom didnt go with Alpha 3 Max PSP port instead, il never know. All games suffer from poor controls due the joy cons forcing you to buy a Pro Controller/SF30 Pro/Arcade Stick to actually pull off special moves.I would suggest only buying if you are a hardcore SF fan. Sadly, the collection does not live up to its legacy.

Controls are rubbish.
What on earth is going on with this release. How fiddly is the start up process. Gone are the days of sticking a cartridge in a console and pressing play. There are too many options and too many potential scenarios. Can't even set this up as a one player ie vs computer. The best I could do was "practice" which involved taking on a stationary and non existent player two. To play an actual opponent a second controller is needed, and to play online a Nintendo ID is required. Very disappointing.

Street Fighter hasn't had any 21st century TLC
None of the games have been modernised and therefore they look and feel as dated as when I played them in 1995. I had hoped the more recent versions would have a hint if HD to them but this is not the case. I also found the controls did not align with the SNES controller so there was no natural transition to the Switch controls. Sad really as I was really hyped to play it.

Some of these other reviewers are doughnuts
It’s exactly what it says it is and what any SF fan would expect. The only downside on the Switch is that there’s not a proper d pad on the console, so the analogue stick is the best native option. This is fine except when trying to do some supers. The downside of the game on all platforms is that Super Turbo’s difficultly is too hard. The sound is a bit quiet when the console is undocked but this is ok. The game overall is great!

Can't wait
My partner always talks about the old games he had growing up and this was his favourite. As he got me a sega last year (sonic is my ultimate favourite) Iv returned the favour. Hope he still loves it as much
