I don’t use mine for reptile terrarium so sorry I can’t help you with that. I use mine behind glass to heat and blend color pencil paintings—for my art. 😁

Q: Do i need to use a thermostat with this product?

Yes you should. Exo-Terra has some decent ones.

Q: For a 24x18x18 should I get the medium, or go with a large?

Depends on how much substrate you have. But I would say large. I started out with a medium for my 36x18x36 and it wasn’t enough. But I have about 4 inches+ of substrate. A thermostat is a must have! You can always dial the thermostat down if needed but you’ll never be able to get it hotter.

Depends on the thermostat, not the pads.
