Let me caveat my review that I have about 8 bushes on my back deck that are in large pots so I use these trimmers to keep the evergreens and rose bushes well groomed. I do not have a garden or lawn. I have now owned these clippers for 2 years. They still work great and are sharp. I do wipe them off before storing them each time after I use them with a dry paper towel. If I had one improvement recommendation for this tool it would be to put some foam or soft rubber on the handles. When spring rolls around it takes me about an hour a bush to properly prune it. So after using these clippers for about 20 minutes my hands do get a little sore from the hard plastic handles. With that said though at least with these clippers I do not have to worry about the cushion cracking and falling apart. So instead I make sure I am wearing gardening gloves when using these to prevent blisters and give my hands some cushioning. When I get started pruning I do not want to stop until I get the bush completed. These clippers are sharp enough and durable so they will cut through some fairly large limbs. I think the key to keeping this tool rust free and in good shape is to wipe it down after use and to try not to use this tool for limbs that are too thick. At this great Amazon price and because these have lasted me so long without issue, I give them a 5 star rating and I strongly recommend them for light to mid duty trimming. If your hands get tired get some nice gardening gloves to give your hands some protection from the hard grips or take a break and grab a glass of iced tea. To date I have had no problems with the clippers locking mechanism or the callabration of the clipping edges.

Shears but they won't lock closed which is a shame

Excellent quality hand pruners.Blades are hardened steel. It works well, and make clean cuts with no damage to branches. It is easy t grip and can cut threw any average branch. I have done a bunch of pruning and pruning and still nice and sharp as well.In a word, easy to use and work great!
