John Mayer Legendary Licks

Habe dieses Notenbuch an einen Gitarristen verschenkt. Er war sehr begeistert. Das Buch kam sehr gut an. Er findet die Auswahl der Licks und Soli‘s prima. Für Fans von John Mayer genau das richtige!

I had high hopes for this book but I was left a little disappointed. If all you are looking for is a few tasty licks this will do quite nicely. Anything more than that and you might be disappointed like myself. The CD is helpful and slowed down for some tricky parts. Most of the book is only excerpts which I didn't expect. Probably should have looked into it a little more. The one that sold me was the intro to "City Love" from Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2004. As far as I know, this is the only book that has any part of that. There's only three excerpts from that intro which covers only 30 seconds of a 4.5 minute intro. "Neon" from "Where the light is" is also included but only 2 excerpts on the intro and another on the solo. It's basically the same story for the rest of the book. You've come to the right place for tasty licks but not much else. Of course, learning anything John Mayer is not for the faint of heart. Strong intermediate skills are necessary to master some of the shapes. Overall, it's a good book if you know what you're getting into.
