AeroGarden T.Z. Case International Heirloom Salad Greens Seed Pod Kit - 3

While 2 tomatoes grow really well spaced apart, if you have herbs/lettuce in between they will quickly be overtaken by tomatoes. Herbs/lettuce can also benefit (have extended life/production if spaced). I haven't experienced algae yet, but after buying I learned that light getting into unplanted modules could encourage algae and there are 'black out' covers available to purchase...duct tape???

I bought this as a refill for my 7 LED AeroGarden - I had put basil in my other pods and had 3 spaces left,and needed 3 pods, so this was perfect. I'd also lost the plastic pods so I needed to replace those. Make sure to save the empty white plastic pods after you harvest, because I have been refilling mine with rock wool and starting my own seeds. All 3 pods are up and growing in less than a week. 2 of my pods had multiple plants come up, but the black simpson only had one.This kit also includes the plant food and dome covers that are used to start seeds.About the seeds:Black Seeded Simpson - This is a loose leaf, green lettuce. The leaves are a bit frilly on the ends.Deer Tongue - This is a green, heirloom variety that is very good when young. The leaves are triangular shaped. This is often found in 'spring greens' salad mix. Parris Island- This is a green, romaine type lettuce, with white inside and at the base. It has longer leaves. It's fast growing and productive.

Two were perfect, one never sprouted? If you try to grow anything else at the same time be warned, the leaves cover most of the light.

I was excited to start my garden and not one pod came to fruition. They were moldy and nothing came of it. Spent a lot of money on these with nothing to show for.
