A Killer's Mind

Great book ! Really enjoyed this style of writing and the character development !

This story had me riveted until the very end, and I'm still hanging on the cliff! A Killer's Mind was my first experience with author Mike Omer and I have to say, I'm very impressed.As a reader, I enjoy a wide range of genres and I'm currently working understand which genres I love to make it easier to pick books. After doing some research about psychological thrillers, Mike Omer's A Killer's Mind was the highest rated I had found on goodreads. I read most of the book in one day.I really enjoyed the approach Omer took with the timeline, introducing us to Zoe then slowly and carefully eluding to her past and why she chose the profession of a forensic psychologist. I was constantly guessing through the book of who the killer was while he gave us subtle clues.I'm personally not a fan of switching characters with the chapters, having one chapter from Zoe's POV and switching to Tatum's, the Killer, the witness, etc. Omer did a great job making it obvious which character was speaking while being discrete, but I felt as though it made the story a bit slower, which is why I gave the book 4/5 stars. I'm a huge Colleen Hoover fan and she tends to switch characters with chapters quite often, but gives the name of the character with the chapter number to eliminate confusion. Switching characters with each chapter was most definitely necessary in Omer's story to aid in the mystery and purpose of the book, to get inside the Killer's mind. I found the chapters from the Killer's POV to be quite useful to fully understand the book and the psyche of the character. Once finding out the history of the Killer, everything seemed to fall into place for the readers and characters. It gave me the sense that I solved the mystery with Zoe and Tatum, as opposed to it being announced and explained after.Unfortunately, I did not realize the book was going to have a sequel, or I probably wouldn't have read it yet! It was, for sure, making it to my "Want to Read" list, but to read a book of serial killers and mystery and know there is a sequel- you know you'll be left on a cliffhanger, and here I am! Clinging by mere fingertips! And now I must wait until next year to find out what happens next for Zoe? Yep, definitely would've waited. But! I'm happy I have other books by Omer to keep me occupied while I wait. Silver lining!For a writer to intrigue me as much as Omer did, to the point at which I can't put the novel down to eat or sleep, my hat is off to you! This book truly made me laugh, think and even gave me chills. Mike Omer, you have another fan and I look forward to the next Zoe Bentley book!

Wonderful read very suspenseful. I love how the author has written the book. I definitely will purchase more books by this author.

I read this book in paperback form and liked it so much that I purchased the audiobook for a blind friend. She hasn't listened it yet, so I don't know if she liked it or not. But, I liked so much that I read the whole series and other books by this author.
