The Great American Mousical (Julie Andrews Collection)

If I could add an Exclamation Mark I Would
I know, I know, since I have "older" kids I should be reading things like Ivanhoe or Last of the Mohicans or Lord of the Rings. This book is none of those. The Great American Mousical by Julie Andrews Edwards and Emma Walton Hamilton is a delightful story for anyone that works, volunteers, or wants to be on stage. A fun romp through a story filled with common "characters" you will find in most theatres. At the end of the story are theatre glossary terms and Miss Addies Advice for Theatre Mice. Great resources for those theatre interested. Or, if you are interested and your kids aren't perhaps reading this together will help explain to why you love theatre! Read Aloud or hand it to your children. I think they will like it as much as we did.

Mousical book
Purchased the book for the grand kids..The older child is 8 years old and is above his age group when it comes to reading. He was quite able to read the book but it was difficult for him to understand & some of the words were above his reading skill level.I think the reading ability age should be set for an older child, unless an adult will be reading and explaining the book to thechild. Its really an adorable, adventurous and well written story that everyone will love & maybe a DVD should be sold along with the book.

Amazing!
This purchase is one that I will never forget. As a theater junkie myself, taking a look into the world of Broadway was exhilarating with a fun twist... as the reader looks through the eyes of a mouse! The language was beautiful, though not too hard, so anyone, I would say, ten and up could enjoy this book. I really loved this book, and would recommend it to anyone with a lust for theater, as well as anyone looking for a good read. A ten!!!

Cute book great play
We bought the book to read before seeing the play it was a great way to get my kids ages (6 & 5) into the atmosphere and they loved continuing it afterwards and seeing how some parts were different or only ion the book. It is for more advanced readers as any younger and it would not keepo thier attention.

Fun story - precursor to a terrific musical!
Very cute story starring musical theater with wonderful line illustrations. Saw the musical based on the book last month in Chester, CT at the Norma Terris theater. Loved it! Hope the production makes it out of the development stage so more audiences can enjoy it. We read the book before attending the 'Mousical.' Enjoyable for all ages.

Great story for kids!
Granddaughter saw this book as a stage production at Goodspeed Opera House this year and it was fabulous. Looked to buy the book immediately and found it on Amazon. It follows the stage production very well too. Highly recommend story--very clever and cute for kids.

Great gift for early reader
Select this as a gift for a very early reader.... Thought she could read herself or have it read to her.... I think she will like ... Author, Julie Andrews, was a bonus!
