OLD VERISON- Dot's 16oz

I'm not much of a pretzel eater, but when it comes to Dot's, I will eat a whole bag! The original flavor is the best. (In my opinion)

The media could not be loaded.  OK so I really, really, really enjoy snacking and asked folks on Twitter for their pretzel recommendations after devouring a bag of Pop Daddy's Dill Pickle pretzels and realizing there's a whole world out there. Dot's came recommended by no less than 5 people so I bought some here, opting for the 2 bag combo pack.On to the pretzels themselves – these twist style pretzels are thicker than your average pretzel sticks, and taste of pure, pure butter, which to me nearly pushes them into cracker territory. Of course, it's not real butter, but "artificial butter flavor" which is maybe it's own category (think movie theater popcorn toppings) but ends up feeling a bit sickly after eating enough.The spices are great – garlic and onion and all that good stuff that makes sure you'll be tasting these long after you're done eating them. I'd gladly eat the same flavor on other classic snacks, like Goldfish crackers, or the rye chips from Gardetto's snack mix.Maybe I'm just be a purist? I'm not a "honey wheat twist" pretzel fan either. When I want pretzels, I want PRETZELS. Just pretzels! PRETZELS, BABY! (Sorry to reference Big Pretzel in this review of the little guys, and also for the record I think Snyder's Nasty Little Cheesy Pretzel Crumble Chunks™ are an abomination).Dot's are a delicious, delicious snack and I just ate like 30 of them while typing this. But now I'm craving pretzels.

These are the BEST pretzels my dad and I have ever tasted from a bag!! I bought the first bag from the grocery store and we loved them sooo much I actually hid them to keep him from eating the whole bag and letting ME have some! LOL I decided to order 2 big bags from Amazon and if I could would have them on auto delivery to make sure we NEVER ran out of these DELICIOUS pretzels! They are more expensive than most pretzels but I’m willing to pay extra for these delicious treats!! I guarantee if you try one, you’ll be hooked too!

I am not actually a pretzel fan to be honest, because usually about 3 pretzel sticks in I feel like I have a mouth full of gooey chalk and am reaching for a drink to wash it down. A friend received these pretzels in a gift pack and said I "had to" try them...big mistake for my waistline! Hands down best pretzels I have EVER tasted - buttery and bursting with flavor from the magic dust they are coated with - nothing compares. I eat them constantly, got my friends and family hooked (seriously - I should get a commission at this point! LOL!) and whenever I get down to about 1/3 of the bag I order more, because I can't get enough! There - the secret is now out - GET YOURS! They'll make a pretzel fan out of ya!

These are pretty good, but not great. Calories are not too bad considering it’s a breaded snack, but the sodium content is really high. They are about $7 to $8 per one pound bag, so that’s a little pricey. The taste is hard to pin down. The first bite had a taste of vinegar in it to me, but I stopped noticing it after a few more. They have heat to them that you don’t notice right away, but it’s not too much. They seem too salty. My main issues with them is the price and the very high salt content (360mg for 16 pieces). They make Fritos seem like a health snack.

One of the best pretzels I've ever had. Worth the money.
