I'm having trouble deciding between three or four stars for this. It works for holding the hay for my guinea pigs, though only when it's just the wheel laid on the cage floor. They couldn't get the hay out well enough when it was on the cage wallOne warning - be careful putting it in the cage on the wire stand. My littlest piggy pushed it over and managed to get his head stuck between the wheel and the stand. He wasn't hurt, but it scared both him and me.

I really wanted to like this hay roller
I really wanted to like this hay roller, but I have put it away for emergency use if the other ones I own fall apart. It is awkward and is not easy to remove and reload. I mount my rollers on the cages and actually pull the whole wheel off to refill. I hate the plastic grates that covers the actual opening for hay. I will stick to the Kaytee Rollin' the Hay (which has its own flaws) until something better comes along.

I love this, perfect for my Guinea pigs!
This balances perfectly on the Guinea pigs cage wall, and they are able to pull all the hay out of it. My older Guinea pig, Cassie, gets to excercise by reaching up to eat her hay. This works well standing upright in their cage or just on the wall.Guinea pigs will always make a mess of their hay (in my experience, at least). But with this. the mess is much reduced and it looks safer for their eyes.

Meh.
Had to bend the wires together with some pliers because the slits weren't big enough for my pigs to pull hay through. Also it doesn't really stay on the cage walls very well.

Fell off cage side
It fell off the side of the cage and hurt my piggy. She is ok but had to remove it so they do not get hurt again
