Taugt nichts

360 Camera sits tilted and offsets the edge stitch!
So, this case is ALMOST a great case, but so far is failing (as is, out of the box). I'll try to revisit this review and add pictures soon. The problem is that what they don't show in most of the product images, is that to keep the camera from moving around inside the case, they've added a long thin horizontal felt pad near the bottom "front" inside the case. When the case is closed around the camera, this felt pad presses against the front of the red battery, cauysing the entire camera body to tilt forward just a tiny bit. I've tried to adjust this several times, but every time I close the case, the camera tilts inside. ---- The reason this is important is that it sets the camera off-center to the convex lens covers built into the case. When looking at the video live on my iphone 8, with the case off, the edge stitch (between front/back lenses) is perfect. When looking with the case on, the edge stitch is offset, and as much as the internal software tries, it can't align the image halves. When looking at the stitched edge, there is a shift. Say for example, there is a light pole 20' away (far enough for it to stitch properly, even with the regular lens covers). If the stitch crosses the light pole, you'll see an offset in the pole, and it will shift over.I'll upload some images of the camera tilt inside the case, as well as some poorly stitched images. The solution here would be to add some felt to straighten the camera inside the case. I'll update soon.ALSO, the top latch that closes the two haves will BARELY stay "down". there is no locking mechanism, so brushing up against the latch, or possibly swinging it around too fast might cause it to lift and open the case. Dangerous! I hope they incorporate a latch in the next version.

Protect your investment, buy this cae
I wish I would have found this a few months ago. I was using the factory lens protectors on my Insta360 One R when it fell to the concrete. It bounced, the lens protectors came off, and my 360 lens got chipped when it hit again. I had to buy a replacement for $200. They are even more expensive now. This product is super affordable, water tight, and it does not distort the image in open air or underwater! It is better than the Insta360 dive case. No weird handle to ruin your shot. I feel much better submerging the camera in this case even though it's supposed to be waterproof on its own. This is the best insurance you can get for your Insta360 One R.

Works perfectly
The insta360 one r is supposed to be completely waterproof without a case but I had read enough reviews about it not being quite tight enough and totally destroying the camera so I bought this case for it. I specifically got it to go snorkeling at Devil's Den in Florida and was expecting picture quality, especially above surface, to be very poor. I was very pleasantly surprised. As you can see, photos above and below water as well as a mixed photo came out quite well. I look forward to using it a lot more in underwater adventures.
