A bit disappointing
I'm still relatively new at crocheting but I found my hands cramping when using straight metal hooks, so I purchased a few ergonomic hooks and fell in love. When I found these, I thought they would be perfect for someone like myself based off the reviews I read. However, I have to say that, compared to the Boye hooks I purchased, they are a let down. The hooks feel cheap and the yarn doesn't slide easily on the hook. The grips themselves feel like cheap rubber that is unpleasant to hold, especially compared to the Boye. One of the hooks came with a damaged grip! Most importantly, the rubber around the grip has little extra bits that stick out and catch the yarn, making it split. The case is nice and the extra pieces like the row counter and the clips are useful. The company has been polite and appears to care, but after looking around on Amazon, I could have purchased a similar set for cheaper. The reviews are a bit deceptive, since everyone who gave quality reviews has received a "discounted" set.Perhaps this set would be okay for someone who is either quite new but needs ergonomic grips or someone who isn't picky about quality. But again, they can be found for cheaper.Personally, I am disappointed and will be splurging on a nicer set elsewhere.

Keeps drinks cold for hours, a little note on the handle side
I am thoroughly impressed with how long this mug keeps drinks cold. I have kept this mug in a hot car for 8 hours (around 85F outside, so sweltering inside the car) and have come back to a cold drink with a little ice left. I think there are some things about this mug that should be pointed out:1. Another reviewer noted this: the lid only needs to be turned a quarter to tighten. It took me a while to figure this out. Facing the mug, with the handle on the right side, place the lid down on the mug with the mouth-opening directly across (hence on the left side), push down to lock the threads, and turn 1/4 to the right to tighten it (counter clockwise). Which brings me to my second point:2. Take note about the handle side! The threading on this mug is only designed so that you will have to pick up the mug with your left hand in order to take a drink with the drinking hole closest to you. Although I am left-handed (which some might find this to be an advantage), I prefer to use my stronger right hand to hold 7 pounds of drink and ice. So, for instance, if your Bubba is on the right side of you, and you reach down with your right hand to pick it up and drink, the mouth-opening will be on the opposite side. If you're able to figure out how to place the mouth-opening on the other side, I'd love to know...my threads don't work that way. Which brings me to my third point:3. You can use a straw to alleviate the issue if you don't mind the mouth piece being farther away from you. It can be difficult when you're reaching the bottom of your liquid and the mug is turned away from where the straw would meet the liquid. The other issue with the straw is the placement of ice. Which brings me to my fourth point:4. If you plan to drink out of the mouth-opening, you shouldn't really have an issue with ice. I will admit the reason my drink stays so cold for so long is I use the larger ice cubes (regular ice cube trays) vs. the ice that comes out of the automatic maker in most fridges. I LOVE ice, so I fill it to the top with ice! However, with the use of the plastic straw, I have to strategically position the ice in order for the straw to fit down the mouth-opening. What I do is fill the Bubba half with ice and place the straw where the mouth-opening will go once the top is tightened. Then I fill the Bubba with liquid (leaving space at the top for more ice), which causes the ice to freeze together. I finish the drink with more ice, and then remove the straw. I tighten the lid on top and place the straw down the mouth opening. I haven't had an issue with this method thus far. However, I have decided to invest in some stainless steel, dishwasher safe straws, so that the straws can stand up to the ice (and last longer than having to throw away a plastic straw daily). Which brings me to my fifth (final) point:5. This mug is not leak-proof, especially if you're going to keep a straw in the mouth-opening. I don't think the company claimed it was, but it definitely is NOT. So, if you're in the market for something spill-proof, this mug is not for you. For travel purposes, I have a small tote bag (it's soft, but with a structured bottom made from plastic) that I place my Bubba in. However, if I had to swerve violently for any reason or slam on the brakes, it's going to tip over.

Cute and comfy at first, degrades quickly
EDIT: I received these in August 2016, after about 3 months the hooks I used frequently were really worn out. The handles cracked and I had to super glue them back together, creating a hard spot that rubbed my thumb raw. The hooks also don't stay in the handles, gradually coming out until you get annoyed and push them back in. If you crochet frequently, invest in a sturdier set because these won't last. I'm leaving my original review below, where I predicted that the handles might not last. This is a quite decent, comfortable hook set for the price. I had been using the skinny aluminum hooks before this, and the ergonomic handles on these hooks make a world of difference, especially with the smaller hooks. No more sore thumb! The metal of the hook was nice and smooth on all the hooks I received. The hooks are tapered rather than inline. I was used to inline but had no trouble adjusting to these hooks. There was a tiny bit of rubber around where the hook connects to the handle, but it didn't affect my work. There is a definite seam around the rubber handles as well, but this is a budget set and I'm not expecting perfection. The colors are vibrant and cute though, and I like that each size has its own color. The millimeter sizes are all imprinted into the hooks. I would have liked if the letter sizes were on the hooks too, but a sharpie fixed that problem pretty quick. The hook seems to go nearly all the way down into the handle, which makes it feel sturdier. The jury is still out on how long the rubber handles will last, and I'll update this review if they start to wear out noticeably. The rubber is soft, and a pet or child chewing on them would definitely ruin these. The set comes with a few extras. The case is a great way to store the hooks and seems sturdy enough. It's not my favorite set of colors (gray with pink accents) but that doesn't bother me, personally. The straps inside the case create a great deal of friction with the rubber handles, making them really hard to remove. On the plus side, that means they won't be falling out if you take this set on the go. The little scissors work alright. Sometimes they have trouble cutting if the yarn is pulled taut. The stitch markers are really handy, and the tiny row counter could be useful too.Overall this is a nice budget set of hooks in my opinion, and a definite upgrade from the Susan Bates hooks I was using. You can see how they were going for the Clover Amour look, and I'm sure they don't measure up exactly, but if you're on a budget these are very comfortable and a good range of hook sizes.Unlike most of the other reviewers here, I was not compensated for this review.
