Worked!
It took me awhile to get it dialed in, but I did eventually. I am a woman in her 50's who has never trapped before. And now this duck killing varmit is done!! Thank you!

Nice snares.
Haven't caught anything yet, set all 12. Already dyed is very nice. Leave them outside after you get to eliminate scents.a little short but the length is stated. I like snares a little longer but very good price.Edit: I snared a red fox with one. My second order came and they were not dyed. I set them anyways because I am impatient and trap season is almost out. Still caught the fox on one I took out of package and set. I caught it 5 days after I set it, maybe scent wore off but still wa super shiny bc not dyed. That's why I changed to 4 stars. They need boiled and dyed before next season for sure. it I had loops set for coyote sround 10-12 inch and the fox stepped through with one foot. It was still alive, but decent catch. Was wired to a thin tree with about 6 wraps of heavy wire.

I've caught 5 beavers so far
I have a beaver problem in my lake right next to my house in central Oklahoma. Beavers are impressive animals, but they are very destructive. Beavers dig tunnels all over. I have two tunnels that go about 30 feet into my lawn from the lake that are 30 inches under ground about 16 inches wide. They have destroyed many trees on my property. I have skinned and even butchered them. It is like beef, but a bit tougher. The largest was 46 pounds. I used Taos beaver lure mixed with petroleum jelly (a tip learned online so it doesn't dry out).I watched a few YouTube videos and set some snares anchored to trees and a t-post. I caught two the very first night, and a few nights later caught two more. This morning I caught another. These snares are dyed dark gray, but definitely not shiny. I'm not sure it matters much for beavers as it is dark when they are active. Most of the snares are not reusable as the beavers twist the cables beyond reuse as a snare, though I have used them as extension cables.

NOT dyed...?
I have purchased these snares from this seller a few times now. The snares are great quality, reliable and durable, however this set I just received was NOT dyed as advertised. The metal is bright, shiny, smells strongly of human industry, and is covered in oil. Fortunately I have a few other traps I'm planning to boil, dye and wax with which I can include these, and I still have a few left that WERE dyed, so this is only a moderate inconvenience/annoyance. -2 stars for that very obvious "oversight" alone.

I finally get rid of groundhogs once and for all, however, be aware it may snare friendly animals
I have suffered from ground hogs destroying the foundation of an outbuilding for years, and more recently invading my barn. I have tried traditional traps with limited success, with perhaps 4 out of 5 catches being the wrong critter. However the snares worked immediately and perfectly. I was able to snare 3 (the entire family) within 2 days. They are 100% effective when placed properly. WARNING: they will snare any animal which goes into them. This is not a concern when placed at the hole into the ground, which only the groundhog uses, but if you have a hole into a building or craw space, you may unintentionally catch friendly critters such as stray barn cats (useful for taking care of mice/rats). I am told you can easily release them safely by following this procedure: coach them into a smaller size traditional trap to keep them still, and then carefully locate the snare, pull it away from their skin, and then use wire cutters to break the snare, and then safely released the cat. It is important you check the snare daily, and when you are unable to check the snare daily, simply move the snare, or tighten the loop all the way (0" diameter) so it is inactive.

but I had a dozen at a good price. No bait needed
I wasn't sure if "deceased animal" photos were allowed, but I effectively used these to avenge my poultry, and snagged me a coyote. Caught the yote stockpiling my ducks one night - snatch one, take it to an area, snatch another one, and add it to the pile. I found the entry/exit path in our back woods on our property, and hung the snare on a small(but sturdy) tree with the loop about a foot and a half high. It was within less than two weeks I walked to that path and found our predator laying dead on the ground. The yote put up a fight - evident by chewing marks on the wiring, but it held up. That particular "one snare" I decided not to use again, because of possible lost strength, but I had a dozen at a good price. No bait needed, just hang them were the known traffic is, and at the right height. On small game/pests I cannot comment as of yet, but very effective on canine sized nuisances.

Easy to setup, worked very well.
Snared me 2 coyotes within 2 weeks.I had coyotes howling so loud at night they sounded like they were INSIDE my house. So, I just watched me a few You Tube videos on snare setups and I'm off and running.Day one, nope. Day two, nope. Day three, nope. This sux. Did I mention that I have very little patience? Anyways...Day 6, large male. Day 10, his girlfriend. This is my first time setting snares and they worked perfectly and were very easy to set up.Let me also say that I only killed these coyotes to protect my livestock and small pets. These were just, and I mean just, barely long enough for coyote setup on the bottom of my fence. I used double ended snaps which made it a cinch to set up and unhook.

Not for me.
I followed the instructions on this snare rig and it does appear to be well constructed but the 2 times an animal got tangled up in it, they were able to get themselves out. I am sure if the scenario was perfect, it would had snagged my perpetrators but my encounters were able to get themselves free.
