Frances Lincoln Sri Lanka: The Cookbook

My wife loved it.

Absolutely stellar dishes, great pictures and variety of dishes. I found this to be the most authentic Sri Lankan cookbook

Wish more people talked about this one! When the weather was warmer, I was really enjoying working my way through this one. So many great sambols and curries, very veg-friendly for those who are interested. This is also my new favorite binding style for cookbooks: easy to lay flat, but looks good on a shelf.Only issue I had with the book as written were with the Maldive fish: I bought a jar of it chipped from a nearby Sri Lankan restaurant/grocery, but it’s so hard and won’t soften or grind down with mortar and pestle no matter what I do. I think I need to do some more homework to figure out what I’m missing, because the book didn’t prepare me for this one.

Beautifully presented cookbook with lots of excellent recipes. Particularly good for vegetarians. All in all an excellent addition to my collection
