Beagle Or Bagel

Wanted to love this game, the pictures are so cute!! Unfortunately, most of the fun was had just looking at the pictures on the box. The game itself (and it includes a few different ways to play) was not really fun at all, the grown-up found it boring and the kids (ages 8-13) found it frustrating and impossible to play without arguing.The game reminds me a bit of Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza - same style game but way more fun for all ages.This one definitely wins for cuteness tho ... good novelty gift for a dog lover, but not for a game lover.

Like others have said, the pictures are the highlight of this game. The flow of the game wouldn’t be terrible if it weren’t for the unclarity of who ‘wins’ a round. It’s so easy to blurt out “BEAGLE” or “BAGEL” that there’s practically no strategy to it. Your kids will end up just yelling both of the words in rapid succession. And then they will all end up fighting over who said what word first... and you realize it wasn’t worth opening the box to see those cute pictures in the first place. I thought this game would be similar to “Spot It”, but the content is even more basic than that. I may give it to my sister who has grade school/toddlers to see if they find it at all entertaining. Unfortunately our 11-year-old boys weren’t amused, and neither were we.

The game has an easy version and a more complicated version but each is played quickly and suitable for families with various aged children. Cardboard cards and token like pieces are packed in a small box. We played both versions with three adults and one nine year old and we all had fun. Our young one loved how quickly the easy version was played. It reminded me of playing the game War with regular playing cards. The visual challenge requires good vision. Good and reasonably priced game with a different gaming experience - lively - and does not require batteries, a computer or tv!

My husband and I "tested" the game shortly after we bought it. We tried all 3 versions of the game and played for a couple of hours. We had a great time! I know our kids and grand kids will love playing this game. Looking forward to game night. I would suggest getting some real bagels before you start playing....I was craving them the whole time.

Expected it to be more fun based on reviews. This is its a better game for families with young kids, than adults and older kids.
