Exactly what I needed
This connector worked perfectly connecting either my Surface 3, or the Microsoft Docking Station, to my 27" desktop display. Both end connectors are a snug fit and nothing disconnects when I move the Surface around occasionally.

Good quality cable that just works
The connector is well made and well packaged with strain relief at both ends. I just plugged it in to a Lenovo Thinkpad with Ubuntu running on it and it worked straight away both as a second desktop and an external main desktop. It recognised the resolution of my monitor without any tweaking. Recommended.

Miracle of Technology
Wow. This lets me see what's on my work MS Surface Pro laptop on a proper monitor. Previously I had to guess what was on the screen with some surprise results. After the disciplinary hearing where I was thankfully exonerated, they allowed me to buy this little gadget and now I can see what I'm writing and to whom. It begs the question why MS don't provide a proper HDMI socket on their extremely expensive and lead lined (from the weight) docking block. But who am I to question MS. A customer that's who. Never mind, time to take my siesta.

As people move to HDMI type links for projectors you need a computer-to-hdmi adaptor. I do a lot of presentations and was often borrowing a connector for my old Macbook to connect to a new projector. I had the standard adaptor but was not willing to pay a fortune for a new original Mac adaptor when this does the job at a fifth of the price.I've used it a few times and it's now part of my "presentation" kit I always have ready for when I need to do a presentation.

Connector between hdmi and mini display port
I have a large screen and needed to be able to connect the hdmi lead into my personal laptop. When the personal laptop wasn't in use I wanted to be able to connect my surface pro. This connector meant I can use one lead with hdmi both ends, plug one end into the screen and the other into my personal laptop. To use my surface pro I move the hdmi lead from personal laptop and plug into my connector which has the mini-display on the other end that goes into my work surface pro. This might be stating the obvious for IT users, but for others not familiar that's how I'm able to use one large screen for either device. Please note as far as I know you can only have one device displayed in use on the screen at a time. Again this might sound obvious. J
