Dance, dance, dance is perhaps the first really strong novel by Murakami, the most mature, the one on which everything starts to build up; the answer to many of the loose ends that he usually leaves hanging in most of his novels. It is such a fine piece of work, written with such sharp that a rereading is necessary. Young Murakami shows his concern with the modern world in this piece more than in other previous or later works. A delightful journey from a detached man's mind to a connected one. All in all, I consider it to be the novel that helps find out answers to most Murakami's puzzles. Enjoyable to the core.

Loved every second of this book. If there was a dance dance dance 2 I would read it in a second.Now i am going to read the first 3 books of "The Rat series" so its complete.

the way he expresses feelings of people and the looks of surroundings is just remarkable---even in this book.

I ordered this book and south of the border hopeing that when I got the books they would have the covers that was advertised. But isntead they came with new vintage art design for the murkami books. No where in the production description / advertisement does it say book will arrive with a different cover. In fact when you use the LOOK INSIDE feature you get to read it as it is advertised i.e. with old nicer artwork. I am really disappointing by this and wish I hadn't bought them. I know it seems picky but I hate the new vintage designs for Murukami books, they're really an eyesore in my opinion and my primary reason for going on to amazon was to hopefully grab some of the earlier editions with better artwork and not some abstract lines and circles. I will be replacing these right away.
