e.l.f.Waterproof Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara, Create Longer & Thicker-Looking Lashes, Black, 0.25 Fl Oz (7.5mL)

Mascara, like all other cosmetics, is a product whose performance is wholly subjective; what I like will not be for everyone, and vice versa. I have tried several e.l.f products and have not been impressed by any of them, but having watched a YouTube video review of this which gave fabulous results, I thought I would buy it based on that, and the reasonable price. My first mistake right there, I have bought countless inexpensive mascaras which are atrocious and I used to bin (Tesco now recycle empty make up packaging incase you are interested) after frustrating attempts to get it to look decent resulting in complete removal of my eye make up and a very, very crabby me. If I had just shelled out on a high end, great mascara initially I'd have saved myself the dosh. But here lies the rub, I am vegan and will only buy cruelty free which leaves me with one mascara I can use that I like and that is Too Faced better than sex (again, subjective; it's certainly better than some I have had) mascara. Now the waterproof is simply perfection but it contains beeswax and the regular version makes my lashes straight. Sorry for the detour, I just wanted to explain my continued hope of finding a cruelty free and vegan waterproof mascara that actually enhances my eyelashes/eye make up. This is not it. Poker straight, on- the-verge-of-killing-themselves eyelashes. Flakes under eyes, drawing attention to my under eye bags quite spectacularly. I wore it out as time was too short to remove all eye make up and start again and I just hated it. We live in troubled times (when were they not, though?) and yes, I have more on my mind than mascara and my eyelashes but, and it's a big but, it's a huge boost to self esteem when my make up looks good, especially with mask wearing focusing attention on the eyes. So, despite their animal friendly manufacturing ethos- and I commend e.l.f totally for this- I cannot waste more money on another poorly performing e.l.f cosmetic.I am sorry to say, it's a miss for me.

If you cycle through cheap beauty products on a weekly basis, give it a go. This is a reasonable mascara, and great price. But it’s cheap for a reason, and will need replacing within a month or so. I thought it might have been a one off when the first one dried up on a matter of weeks, so my second purchase was a waterproof version of the same… but alas, that too dried up about a month into use. Although I would say that in those short few weeks, it was a great relationship! It is waterproof and has a good half-day staying power. I bought this on endorsement by Holly Willoughby, I admit, and more fool me! I will stick to more expensive and better quality cosmetic brands in future.

Not impressed with this one. I like E.L.F products but this mascara isn’t great, after a week of using it had started to dry out and clumping on the brush, it’s definitely not waterproof and smudges very easy.It’s a shame because when first used it looked really nice and covered well until you accidentally rubbed your eye .

Love this mascara. I’m not blessed with long dark lashes, quite the opposite but hate lash extensions and falsies. I did do my research first and the reviews are true. Best mascara I’ve used in years.

This mascara has been more successful than the previous 3 that I have bought. I have very sensitive eyes that can be easily affected, even by hypoallergenic make-up - this has not caused any problems. Would recommend.
