Tiny Print Edition - not good.
I love the story so ordered two copies of the book for gifts for my friends - was SO disappointed to see the tiny size of the print in this edition which certainly will make the reading much less enjoyable - magnifying glasses may be required.

Prospective customers for this edition should be cautioned that the print is microscopic.
I have the film, Enchanted April, and thought the book would be a good choice now, while we are all confined to our homes during the pandemic. It seemed the post WW1 period for the book would resonate now, as many of us want "softer' reads. The characters in this story are dealing with emotional wounds from that war and the Spanish flu pandemic. I shall be interested to see how Elizabeth von Arnim, a woman of interesting personal history, marriage, etc, who lived through that time, writes about it through her characters and settings.I would prefer to have been told that the print in this book is so small. Might have shopped for a different version among those offered.

FONT IS ABNORMALLY SMALL.
Disgusted with this purchase. NO one could read this. Should have read the reviews. Why would anyone this printing this small is a good idea? Saving money on the number of pages, maybe? What a waste of my money and time. Going back tomorrow.

Wonderful Book, Hard to Read Print
I love this story so much. Its beautiful and quiet and wonderful. The characters are all older than the typical heroines and the interest comes from hope and beauty rather than drama and conflict. The copy is not great, the type is very very small which is a shame. I love that you can get out-of-print books to order on Amazon but wish they would use standard font sizes (and spell check would be nice).

On my top 10 list of feel good books
Elizabeth von Arnim has a delightful way with words. This story is enchanting, indeed. I will read it again when my heart needs therapy.

Buyer beware!
I gave this book a good review based upon my having read it long ago. I ordered this copy for a gift to someone else. When the copy arrived today I was furious. The print is so tiny as to be virtually unreadable and, the ink is light in color. One would need a big magnifier to read it. I contacted Amazon to return it. They refunded my money, but told me not to return the book. I will throw this book away - no one would want it. But now I am faced with having to find another gift just a few days before it is needed. The company that printed this book has no ID - it just says "Made in the USA/Coppell, TX, 17 December 2022. I thought every book printed in the U.S. had to have a publisher's name and address in it.

This is not a normal book!!!
Put a dime on the text of any ordinary paperback you may have and compare to this photo. Also there is no page that tells you the publisher or any other information. It seems like the book was copied. I could read it but with some difficulty and not comfortably. I expected a published paperback from a reputable printer.Oh, by the way. This is truly a delightful book, with a window into the 1920's aristocracy and the way they treat serving people. But also engaging in its nuanced feel for marriage that can resonate today. I highly recommend the book. But please, find a readable copy.

Brilliant
What a super short read. Some parts outdated and the English are all upper middle class, used to servants. But the story of four women renting a castle in Italy is mesmerising. The descriptions, especially of the many flowers, instilled a longing in me to be there with themBeautifully written. Highly recommended.

An enjoyable read
I bought it but started it late...I haven't quite finished it yet, I love the imagery and the visual style - I feel like I'm there. The characters are all endearing in their own way. All the time I was reading it, I kept thinking, "I can see this as a BBC series!" and I could even imagine what actors in the parts! I found out after that there was a movie based on the book. For the character development and scenery, I really can't see it as a movie - it needs a series.

A delightful story with hidden depth...
The Enchanted April is a most delightful story, set after WWI, when a group of very different women all come together for a vacation, through an advertisement in the newspaper. The writing is beautiful, with the gardens being the unnamed character, always in the background, but sometimes coming to the fore with great splendour. As the garden burgeons, so do the women. This isn't just a pretty story – it has real depth.I had seen the film adaptation many times before reading the book, and the book was even better. Great summer reading – buy it for yourself for Christmas, so you can read it while the kids play on the beach or in the pool...
