Ceiling Fan Remote Control Replacement for Hampton Bay Hunter UC7078T CHQ7078T CHQ8BT7078T L3H2003FANHD Fan-HD Fan-HD6 RR7078TR, with Reverse

I bought this remote based on some other reviews which sounded promising for it working with my Hunter ceiling fan. My guess is that my Hunter ceiling fan is approximately 28 years old… From the 1990s when the home was built.Around a week ago, my original remote seemed to give up the ghost and no longer work. I thought it needed a change of battery, but even when I changed the battery, it would not function properly. It glitched at first, and then none of the front buttons would work… so I went to the Hunter website and found the option for a universal remote they had available (which was significantly more money than this remote) and when I looked up reviews for it, the reviews were very low for the universal Hunter brand remote, so I decided to look for another alternative. And, thankfully , I found this one and a few other possibilities here on Amazon. I read through some reviews to see what other shopper’s experiences were, and it looked promising, so I ordered it.It arrived today - one day before it was scheduled. I installed the battery and first tried to use it just as the inside tabs/buttons were already set/situated. No success yet. At first, I could not tell which direction was on or off so I pushed all the buttons/tabs in the opposite direction. That didn’t work since that was in the off position for all of them! Then I decided to try pushing the buttons number 1 through 3 back to the on position and leave the 4th one in the off position. Third try was a charm and it is working beautifully for all functions! 🙏I am including some photos that hopefully will be helpful for anyone needing to make any adjustments with the inside buttons or compare the remote you are looking to replace… My original has five tabs/buttons inside, and this replacement has only four. I had to use my phone flashlight to see how the buttons were numbered on my original, my original remote no longer had any tag attached to the back, so I had no idea what the actual model of the remote is to compare with other reviewers descriptions, but due to some of the photographs available… It looked very similar to their remotes, so I knew this was worth trying. (unfortunately, I am not able to provide an exact model number or such for my original Hunter ceiling fan remote control.)My ceiling fan does not have a light even though my original remote - as well as this one - both have that option available. I have included a photo comparing the front sides of both remotes.And one last note about making the adjustments for the inside buttons… I utilized a small knife for a couple of the buttons which were harder to reach with my finger, and that worked very well.Highly recommend if you think you have a ceiling fan with which it may be compatible!

Works great and was very easy to program.

This remote works perfectly with my fan. All I did was match the "settings" inside the remote to the old one. Put in a battery, and it turned on my fan, tested all the different speeds, reverse. It worked!

Wasn’t sure but I read a few reviews saying their fan was 20+ years old and it worked, so I decided to give it a shot. I got emails from the vendor to check on me and that if I needed any assistance to let them know. Got it today set the dip switches a few times as I lost my remote so I didn’t know the old code. After about 4-5 different switches it started working. Even the dimmer works. Great product and excellent customer service.

I had to set up the remote to the station by the light switch but as long as you program the inside dials (use tweezers or something small like a flathead screwdriver) it hooked up very quickly to my light and fan. The reverse can bottom does not work but I wouldn’t have thought to use it, plus there is a switch on the ceiling fan itself. If you have a dimming setting on your light that works too by long holding the light on/off button.

This remote works great. Word of caution.. Do NOT throw your old one away until you code the new model with the little switches inside the battery compartment area.

This well made solid components ( know your codes ) but if you don’t no worries isn’t only 16 combinations it’s easy done in no time
