Strike KingLures, KVD Square Bill Silent Crankbaits, 2 3/4" Length, 5/8 oz, 2 Hook, Phantom Perch, Package of 1 (Model: HCKVDS2.5-464)

There are so many different colors of this exact lure, but I recently received this one in the “Phantom Watermelon Red Craw” color and pattern. The color is amazing and is similar to the color pattern I would use with a plastic worm, but what I didn’t realize until I received it is that it is actually see through when you hold it up to the light. In bright light, you can see the rattles and chambers inside separating the rattles, which makes this even better than I had expected. Light can reflect and shine through even better. The rattles have a very distinct sound, and are different than other lipless crank baits that I own. I have many different brands of crank baits, but I am always drawn back to this Strike King Red Eye Shad.

nice lure but more expensive than in brick and mortar store

I was a bit skeptical of these baits given I've always had bad luck with crankbaits shaped like this. but after seeing some fishing videos online where these were used almost exclusively, I decided to give them a try. We took a fishing trip to northern Michigan and on this particular day nothing was biting. So I decided to just try this new bait (I got the Sexy Blugill) and stick with it for a long period of time. Sure enough, boom -- the bite was on. The other guy I was fishing with (who had the front of the boat mind you) got nothing and I was able to land 4-5 pike with a bass or two. The action was great, it floats (which is nice to get around debris) and, despite floating, is heavy enough that you can cast a good distance. I'm probably going to pick up some different colors just because I like this particular bait so much .

Bass love these. I’ve caught a bass even when it is a bad day for fishing. Nothing else was working. The gold chrome paint chips off pretty easily though. A few bass and it chips with white being the under color. I’ve still caught bass with small chips though.

Fishing

This came looking more cheaply made than others we have bought from different stores. Hopefully the hooks won’t fall off if it grabs the attention of a big fish.
