Plan ahead
I absolutely love this bladder. I went with the 3l capacity as I wanted as much volume as possible. This fits extremely well in most Osprey backpacks that are larger. The smaller ones may be an issue due to the size of the bladder. I always like to multi use things when possible. Unfortunately I didn't plan for the bladder being so large. It will not fit my kayak life vest or my Osprey Daylite pak. Can't complain since it meets my needs very well in the large backpacking pack. I may need to purchase another in a smaller size for my other needs. I would recommend this for it's function and quality of construction. I am not afraid to put this in the same pack as my camera gear.

High quality reservoir that's easy to use with full backpack
I was going on a twelve day Philmont hike and wanted to have a good-sized water reservoir. Besides the Osprey brand name, I really liked that this reservoir had a hard plastic backing to it. This allows you to more easily shove the filled reservoir into a fully loaded pack. I had 70L Osprey backpack completely filled with stuff for the trail and would stuff the full reservoir into the pack. It only leaked one time. Initially I assumed there was a hole in the bladder. But I took it out, filled it with water, then tried to make it leak by squeezing it. But nothing came out. My conclusion was that my backpack was laid flat (or slightly inverted) which make the water leak out of the top. After that, I made sure my backpack was either slightly or fully elevated. No more leaks after that. I also liked the reservoir had a slide-off "cap" on the top that was attached to the reservoir with a plastic "string." So you didn't have to ask, "where did the cap go?" That's usually me. Lol. Very good water flow and the ability to "turn off" the water flow at the spout. Came with magnet to attach the hose to the front of your pack. I abused this thing for 12 days on the trail it performed exactly as I had hoped. Recommend it highly for longer treks.

Parfait !

Design Perfection
I have a number of other bladders including a Camelbak 3L, a generic high quality 2L bladder, a budget 3L bladder. So I have a reasonable range of bladders that I've fitted to a variety of sacks & back packs. I wasn't impressed with the budget bladder so decided to buy a branded bladder. My rucksacks are either Lowe Alpine, who don't do a branded bladder, and Osprey, who do. I own an Osprey Talon 22 (long) so even though its a daysack I suspected it was ok for the larger 3L bladder. I can testify that it fits fine.I picked a 3 litre bladder for the obvious reason that I can have the flexibility to fill it up as much, or as little, as I like. Plus carrying an extra litre of H2O is no hardship. Better to have more than I need than not enough, when I am in need of more, is my motto. The Hydraulics bladder is superbly designed and constructed. Probably over engineered to be honest, but who doesn't like an over-engineered practical bit of kit these days? The slide sealer is new to me but works per4efectly and on relfection is better than the regular camelbak screw cap, which I do find quite hard to unscrew given their propensity to tighten very tightly. The Hydraulics system is way easier and no doubt will be a doddle with gloves or mitts. The hose and mouth piece are superbly designed and the fact that Osprey sell spares is a definite plus point. I also like the sternum strap magnet, which keeps the hose from flopping about. All in all the Hydraulics bladder is a superbly designed bit of kit and though it isn't cheap it is worth buying if you highly value quality and performance.
