It does not have a harsh spice bite like the Cinnamomum Cassia, but a softer note, and a hint of sweetness, too. I was surprised at how much different - and better - C. Verum smells and tastes compared to C. Cassia. C. Cassia is what is typically sold in the USA as cinnamon. I have been enjoying this cinnamon far more than C. Cassia, and have found it's great in/on many things I had not previously considered, such as sprinkled on yogurt, topped with a drizzle of honey.There are five types of cinnamon that I am aware of: Cinnamomum Burmannii (Indonesian), Cinnamomum Cassia (Chinese), Cinnamomum Citriodorum (Malabar), Cinnamomum Loureiroi (Vietnamese/Saigon), and Cinnamomum Verum (Ceylon).Studies show that C. Verum also provides more/better health benefits than C. Cassia and the other cinnamon varieties. Some of these benefits may include reducing inflammation, protecting against heart disease, improving insulin sensitivity, lowering blood sugar and cholesterol, and protecting against infrections. The best benefits to me is that it smells so good and makes food taste so much better.One potential concern is that cinnamon contains coumarin. C. Verum has an insignificant amout of coumarin, about 0.01 mg - 0.14 mg per gram - much lower than the other cinnimons, which, for example, C. Cassia has about 0.1 mg – 3.5 mg of coumarin per gram. However, unless you are consuming a lot of cinnamon on a daily basis, C. Cassia should not pose a health risk.

I love this product - ordered a few times.I only wish the packaging looked better - haha (call me)I add it to my latte every morning - with cocoa powder and mushroom powder.

Ceylon has a lighter, brighter and spicier flavor than cassia cinnamon, and is healthier and more beneficial to consume

The taste is delicious and free of pesticides. The purity is unmatched. I got a lot for the money and will purchase again. Great value.

It has a zip top closure. The powder smells strongly of cinnamon and has a good and consistent color.Installation/setup: Use in recipes that call for cinnamon powder.Final thoughts: I used this in some oatmeal with brown sugar for breakfast. It mixed in well and tasted good. I got this to make cinnamon rolls and I plan to still do that with this. Dried cinnamon dust. Hardly any flavor. A rounded teaspoon in a cup of latte gives very little flavor. My personal non scientific opinion, is that the cinnamon oils have been mostly removed and this is what is left from the cinnamon oil extraction process. The old school cinnamons from years back have more flavor by using a smaller quantity.

I like to add cinnamon to my morning smoothies. I've been using this as a substitute and its been okay. It doesn't have as strong a scent as cinnamon but its not odorless either. Tastes good and I'll most likely get this
